I was taken and locked in an adult ward when I was 15.

The thing about psychiatric incarceration is that it has been sanitized with all the relatively affluent people who talk about taking a “grippy sock vacation” because their privilege allows a level of safety — until it doesn’t. If you can’t leave the “behavioral health unit” you are not free.

People often have their phones taken and are not allowed to speak to anyone. Disability rights attorneys are hard to come by and it can be days. Also, in some places doctors will just not discharge on weekends holding people longer in psychiatric incarceration. People lose jobs, housing…

It’s terrifying. If people don’t voluntarily admit themselves they are often rhreatened with going before a judge where you can then be involuntarily held. And at least in Maine, you can also be forced to take medication and even get ECT (against your will).

I’m trying to write something smart but I’m just so sad, angry, and scared. The police should not exist but esp have no right being involved in so-called healthcare. There is nothing healing about facilities who legitimize and cooperate with cops. I’m sorry this happened to you

The audio on my phone mostly doesn’t work. I got my neighbor to pick up my medicine but it was wrong. I can’t figure out how to reach the pharmacy. I’m so angry I ever started taking medicine and food again.

for people who romanticize Maine, they should really go deep on this year's Senate race because it is the reality of living here -- you can't make these white people up or sanitize them with consulting firms

Democrats Abandoned Their Anti-Death Penalty Stance. Those on Federal Death Row May Pay the Price.

"ICE has detained more than 8,750 kids since Trump retook office. ... [A] baby and two other young children were held without their mother for around 10 days. No one in their family could locate them. The family later learned the children were kept in a hotel room before they were [deported]."

Another death in a Massachusetts prison BAU raises fresh questions about mental health reforms
If the death is officially ruled a suicide, it will be the fourth suicide in a BAU since April 2025 and the third specifically in the MCI-Norfolk BAU.

Today I remembered how my big goal was to be able to get a colonoscopy when I turned 50, over 6 years ago. I haven’t had a mammogram in over a decade. I’m now behind on routine vaccines. There are so many tests I’m supposed to have and they are all out of reach. US healthcare is a failure

One of the most disconcerting moments of living in this timeline of the world in the U.S. is that A LOT of people in this country keep acting like there's a special line that needs to be crossed for fascism to *arrive.* The reality is that we are CURRENTLY living under Federal fascism. NOW.

Someone on here reassured me that I could ask for help. I did that in a small way tonight and the person said yes to helping me get medicine. I don't think people understand both how hard it is for people to ask for help but what a difference small acts of kindness make. It's really important.

I think it's really sad that some of us live in a world where our lasts are like: last month living inside, last time eating, last time seeing your dog. Like if you can't work, there is just no way forward.

differentiating between the cops who officially collaborate with ICE and those who “just” support the regime through upholding carceral structures is doing the State’s work through the tired “good cop vs bad cop” argument Abolish ICE. Abolish all the police.

the abuse is systemic and cultural. it’s being made public is more threat than awareness because of the power imbalance. the abusive State holds weapons, capital, and often the courts including SCOTUS fighting back only works when individuals organize collectively

We are no longer playing in the world of “you can’t help others if you don’t care for yourself first” — we have been beyond that comfortable belief for years. It is simply impractical in such harsh inequality.

The one question that continues to guide me is : is it a reformist reform? If it is or enables one, I simply refuse even if it costs me my life. We starve before we feed the mechanisms of fascism.

The demand should not be no collaboration between the cops and ICE. The demand should be no cops including ICE. Abolition will always be the only answer. Liberation is the most practical of goals.

I really thought when this started "everyone" was trained, "everyone" was responding to calls, and that everyone's computer looked like an emergency dashboard. I've learned that plenty of people still go to their 9-5s and out to dinner and on vacation and other things... this is fascism, all of it
