considering that the american government is nearly a dictatorship as well as aiding in palestinian genocide…i think referring to people being reasonably unhappy over seeing “maga” in a digimon work as “annoying” is annoying in and of itself (2/2)

orchid @orchidentity.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

been seeing discourse about digimon eggs and the use of maga as a nickname/digimon noise. someone referred to americentrism as annoying technically i agree with that statement, and absolutely no one should be harassed over the translation choices, BUT… (1/2)

i don’t get why gooseworx can’t take accountability. yes, her “jokes” were years ago, but apologizing isn’t that hard! why is it hard to say that joking about pedophilia was pretty dumb and that she knows better now? but transphobes and death threaters can fuck off. she doesn’t deserve harassment.

as someone who is largely anti AI, i still genuinely wonder if the recent popularity and overuse of the word “slop” has made the entire human population 5% dumber

why do many “please help me find work” tweets have more likes than reblogs. i don’t think those likes are gonna do much good without reblogging it to spread the word. seriously, i don’t get it.

whatever kind of super bowl hangover the seahawks have (and it could be a very rough one, especially with no ken walker iii), they are still not the seattle mariners.

really enjoying the pokopia dlc, but i’m wondering if part two will be fairly barebones. hoping they add hundreds of items in that one, though that’s probably unlikely.

why not market the version of jax who transitioned? why not have her wear the maid dress? is she really going to be confined to a single twitter post? are glitch and goose not wanting to show a version of jax who is happy and explicitly trans? does a humiliation fetish matter more?

000

orchid @orchidentity.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

maid jax merch and the pop up cafe thing still featuring them is creepy and weird. jax is a piece of shit, sure, but they’re still closeted and dead in the tadc finale. this just feels like a marketed maid dress humiliation fetish more than anything else at this point.

liking tadc despite it having big flaws is not a bad thing. but it’s important to be aware of its problems and to not shout down those who critique it. and the show/fandom does have misogyny and racism issues. hell, i get the criticism that says it’s unintentionally transphobic

000

orchid @orchidentity.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

youtu.be/D4c2hWwO7Cc?... i thought episode nine of tadc was very flawed and this excellent video by digichiaki explains the series’ problems better than i ever could also, reasonably critiquing a show and disliking it is not media illiteracy. many of the show’s defenders need to do better

congratulations to jon bois of secret base for fixing the new york knicks

a still of a youtube video, made by jon bois of secretbasesbn, wherein he details how he would go back in time and fix the nba franchise of the new york knicks.

about a year after this video, the knicks won the 2026 nba finals, which is their first championship win since 1973.

“fix the knicks and make ‘em shine, get ‘em to win like it’s ‘69”

no spoilers about tadc episode 9, but i think it’s okay to dislike it. it’s okay to not feel happy about certain outcomes. and i don’t think it’s okay for people to tell those who disliked it that they’re wrong. after all, people are complex beings. hostility is needless from either side, though.

i am hearing good things about monster crown: sin eater. tried playing the first one a while back and it had a lot of promise and great monster designs, but the game was sadly buggy and had noticeable typos even in its final version, at least on the nintendo switch. is sin eater worth the buy?

for those who play pokemon go and like to do routes: elite fast tms are a very rare reward for completing one. it's seemingly unknown how low the odds are, though i saw a guess of 1 in 500. it took me 818 routes to get one. a 0.1% chance wouldn't surprise me, honestly.

*sigh* If your Kickstarter video/image is AI, I won't back it. If your book has an AI cover, I won't read it. If you're a public supporter of AI use for creative work, I will unfollow you. I cannot stress enough how offensive I find AI use in the arts. It is outright theft, it is lazy, it is gross.

i'm more annoyed about melmetal not getting double iron bash this event than any of the pokemon go fest details. i guess there's a small chance they're saving that for a different event later this year (whether it's go fest or something else), but still.

000

orchid @orchidentity.bsky.social · 25/04/2026

you got sableye in april just in time, pokopia devs (it was already planned, i bet, but still)

000

orchid @orchidentity.bsky.social · 22/04/2026

kinda surprised that pokopia didn't add a new pokemon (or pokemon family) to the game this month. hoping that they don't slack on that and they maximize new content for all it's worth, including worthwhile dlc

100

orchid @orchidentity.bsky.social · 15/04/2026

the dialogue for inhabitants in both new horizons and pokopia is limited/repetitive, but at least you can explore with different pokemon and they help you with tasks, too. most pokemon aren't super deep thinkers, either. it's just so glaring in new horizons, though.

000

orchid @orchidentity.bsky.social · 15/04/2026

pokopia really shows the importance of a world that feels alive and has inhabitants who care about what you do. that's new horizons' biggest flaw by far.

000

orchid @orchidentity.bsky.social · 07/04/2026

surely melmetal can learn its elite charged move in the steeled resolve event. i think it's been a long time since it was made available without an elite charged tm.

gooseworx said that only the strongest jax fans would survive the show...but...what about the caine fans...

001

orchid @orchidentity.bsky.social · 22/03/2026

i don't think bubble's dead. whether or not they're part of the blue ai, they have major "final boss of tadc" potential. i also hope caine isn't dead for good. he probably is, but damn. i hated everything he did in episode eight and i hate his lack of empathy, but he's hard not to feel bad for.

010

orchid @orchidentity.bsky.social · 22/03/2026

orchid @orchidentity.bsky.social · 06/03/2026

the game key format is just nintendo's way of getting people to go digital, isn't it? sadly, that's gonna be the case with me and pokopia in about a week.
