- Redid the main Jetstream loop to be faster and more resilient. It will crash less, and if it does, it'll immediately restart. - We got MUCH faster. Like a lot faster. Like too fast. This is technically an improvement, but we are so fast that Bluesky doesn't have time to serve up embeds in time. 🧵

Orchid V2 is live! Here's what changed: - We are no longer hosting our database on MongoDB. It's all local using MikroORM and SQLite. In short, it's faster, and more local. - Redid account DID checking. No more database junk from people trying to connect their OF accounts. We don't do that... 🧵

We've updated NodeJS, all the Mikro packages, Discord.js, and a bunch of other stuff. Migrated to the ES decorators for Mikro too. Worth it to check it out, just need to fix a couple bugs and write up some changelogs and we should have a lot more stable experience.

BREAKING: 7 People out of almost 800 valid account connections are using the regex blacklist feature. That's less than 1 in 100 people I don't want a regression in features, but at the same time, malformed regex can be harmful to memory, which slows down the bot. What do we think?

Absolute worst case if a bad actor accesses my server (which nobody will) is that the token gets grabbed and you guys get spammed. In which case I'd just reset the token and it's business as usual. But again, that's never happening, so don't worry 😉 🧵

What does this mean for user privacy? Nothing, really. While pyro technically CAN access the server, it doesn't mean they WILL. And even if they DO, it's not a big deal, because nobody's passwords are saved on the database. 🧵
