We're only 52 people away from 700 users That's pretty cool I think

Orchid - Discord Bridge @orchid.kyanoxia.com · 18/07/2026

Orchid V2 is live! Here's what changed: - We are no longer hosting our database on MongoDB. It's all local using MikroORM and SQLite. In short, it's faster, and more local. - Redid account DID checking. No more database junk from people trying to connect their OF accounts. We don't do that... 🧵

Okay so seeing as though Orchid is borked, I'm thinking of bringing online V2 (which is fully functional, but lacking a few features) so that we have SOMETHING. What do you think? Obviously your accounts will stay connected through the move to the new database.

Those of you self-hosting Orchid can now contribute or check out the V2 source code at git.kyanoxia.com/kyanoxia/orc...

Orchid might be dead for a little while, use @skycord.app until I am able to work on it again

For some reason we just broke 400 guilds. Crazy work I say. Thanks guys!

BREAKING: 7 People out of almost 800 valid account connections are using the regex blacklist feature. That's less than 1 in 100 people I don't want a regression in features, but at the same time, malformed regex can be harmful to memory, which slows down the bot. What do we think?

More database optimizations: From "[did]: [channel, channel, channel]" To a relational database that holds both linked to each other Which also means less internet traffic, which means faster announcement times.

hi guys a couple catgirls took over the account and although we can now show some progress, we'll get sprayed with water if we don't censor project codenames

By the way - growth was never a goal for me My friends were like "oh I'm on bluesky and don't have a way to get my posts to discord" Made a solution and decided to make it public, then fix it later. It's fulfilling to make things for people you know. Strive to be like me, peasants.

Currently in the process of moving so uh V2 is going to take a LONG time while I try and get my shit together (y'all please give me grace I know shits hella broke rn)

Orchid - Discord Bridge @orchid.kyanoxia.com · 07/09/2025

MikroORM keeps doing this and I don't know why. It's pissing me off because it can't store channel IDs correctly. Someone please help 😭😭😭

Orchid is having trouble. I know. If you're experiencing issues and want it resolved immediately, use @skycord.app or help find bugs on our github: github.com/kyanoxia/orc... Mean time, I'm working on a v2 of the bot anyways so bugs won't be fixed immediately (why this account has been so quiet).

As of today, we're fully running on Pyro! 🎉🥳 Aside from the database, which is still MongoDB. The new privacy policy is not ready yet, but all that's really going to change is adding a link to Pyro's Privacy Policy, as our core policy hasn't changed. pyro.host/privacy

Stable hosting... finally... We've partnered with @pyro.host to beef up our hosting. We're no longer going to be running on a raspberry pi soon! In a week's time, Orchid will be fully running on their infrastructure, and an updated Privacy Policy will be issued. Read it! 🧵

Orchid is back up, sorry for the inconvenience! We had a power failure yesterday but all is taken care of now! Donate on the Ko-Fi or GitHub Sponsors so we can run on a VPS and not on my parents' network ❤️

Thank you everyone for 300 guilds! This is monumental, and we're eternally grateful to be able to provide a service used by so many. Here's to helping many more people build their community 🎉

Bot's being fuckier, taking it offline until I can pinpoint the issue.

No substantial changes have been made, but I am obligated to tell you that the privacy policy and terms of service have been updated. Please go read them on the GitHub. (hardly anything changed aside from the bot's name)

Orchid - Discord Bridge @orchid.kyanoxia.com · 09/12/2024

📢New Update! (1/5) Here's what's changed (v2.0.0) - We have migrated to the public Bluesky Jetstream - API calls are now more conveniently handled - The database got rebuilt to focus on channels connected to accounts, rather than accounts connected to guilds

Orchid - Discord Bridge @orchid.kyanoxia.com · 08/12/2024

Clearly - we have new branding. Orchids represent grace. The logo may not be final, and I'm still waiting on Discord to officially change the name of the bot, but I suppose this can be considered part of the v2 update. Sorry for the sudden change, but it must be done. I'll keep you updated.

So as you probably knew (if you use Skycord), there's been some drama afoot Basically, I made a false assumption that @midnightwolf.bsky.social was attempting to impersonate me by using some assets extremely similar to the ones I created This wasn't the case and we've come to a mutual agreement 🧵

Okay so it's very much broken right now, but I know *where* the error is. I just don't know *how* the error is. Expect maintenance to run until monday (because I'm one girl coding this myself and I need sleep tonight)

Orchid - Discord Bridge @orchid.kyanoxia.com · 08/12/2024

Skycord v2 maintenance is going to start VERY soon. Be prepared for outages and inconsistencies (you shouldn't get ping spammed). If you are subscribed to Ko-Fi, you can see a pre-release devlog here: ko-fi.com/post/Skycord...

Skycord v2 is close to release! With this release you can expect... a lot of bugs... (hopefully not!) I'm working on re-writing the database structure so that you don't have to reconnect your accounts, but it's not looking so hot so far... I'll keep working towards it!

📢New Update! Here's what's changed: - Accounts don't randomly disconnect anymore /update command is coming so we can update specific values instead of reconnecting accounts.

040

Orchid - Discord Bridge @orchid.kyanoxia.com · 20/11/2024

Bluesky's API went down last night. A lot of your accounts were disconnected. Skycord checks for invalid accounts by using the API which is why you got disconnected. The issue is resolved and you should be able to reconnect now. 🧵
