Related to this, people on Bluesky/Mastodon have a WORKING muting feature and they want to use it! If you purposefully censor "bad words" you are letting people see stuff they are avoiding on their own volition and in silence, and that is really bad on your end when the general culture is tagging

I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being. Abandon Twitter for good. It's time. It's been time.

A quoted tweet from a user named Sam that reads: "How Twitter is rigged
Type in all caps because you're excited? Lowers your reputation. Include links? Your score goes down. It's like the Credit Score system from Hell.
And given Cisgender is treated as a slur & MAGA boosted, you can guess what's categorized as 'offensive'"

The tweet they quoted is from user SADIQ and reads:
"Tweepcred is X's reputation system

What are the rules of the X algo tho? Glad you asked."

SADIQ includes a photo of Twitter's algorithm code that calculates a user's reputation.

SADIQ continues:

Offensive username? 80% reach reduction
All caps tweet? That's seen as 'shouting. Major penalization.
Include links? Yup, penalized"

It came out a while ago that Twitter was inflating views on posts, and I'd bet my bottom dollar its done on likes as well. Combine that with bots and you get that dopamine hit of a like but no actual human interaction behind it. But for a lot of people that hit is enough.
