I re-read this one twice because I loved it so much! It's so full of yearning and desperation that I absolutely love and adore! 🥰💖💖💖💖 Guy who got a sip and is forever thirsty is a good topic and you did an awesome job showing just the tip of the iceberg of his love for her. ❤️‍🔥

Knows she is not his alone, for all that she still remains so private with her time. With her energy. With whom she shares her affections.

But Erenville has her attention now, and he will be loathe to lose it again.

As Erenville will sooner admit, with a certainty that prompted no question, that Jazzele, of all people, was categorically beautiful on a good day. Whether she was enveloped by the hues of broad and brilliant daylight, or when she was clad in the dull shadows of the most poorly lit alleys.

She was beautiful fresh out of bed with mussed hair and kiss-swollen lips. Beautiful when she was trudging through mud and chasing after an evasive wild hippo.

She was beautiful when she glowed with the strength of her fiercest convictions. Beautiful even when she was blood drenched and entangled with death, with the hush of a subtle darkness sweeping across her skin.

Jazzele was—is—entirely too beautiful.

But here and now—she all but gleams with the light of something outright incandescent.

A fair difference indeed, for how insistently she manages to tempt him, with her hush of low whispers and ever sinful attentions. Her fingers so often trailing delicately against his skin, yet her body always dancing just steps out of reach when he begins to want.

There is a difference there, yes. Surely there must be.

He would not mull over the specifications of it now.

Because surely there must be some certainty to it, yes? Some confidence towards this answer that he's found. That he's been trying to unearth since the beginning. Since that horrible dome first made itself reality, cutting off the outside world—only to fuse itself to his village, shattering the familiarity of home and remaking it into something utterly unnatural altogether.

She is certain then, that whatever it is that she feels at this moment—cannot even remotely begin to compare to whatever horror it is that is screaming relentless inside of him. Whatever nightmare terror it is that is rapidly building weight, compounding itself into an amalgam of reality that bears too much truth—so much so that it will be near impossible to deny.
