Yeah, they felt so confident in Marathon that the already decaying Destiny 2 was probably seen as some sort of hindrance, but Marathon failed catastrophically, and now they fall between two stools. Hopefully, they at least get some momentum out of this plan to start a new project.

Re-releasing old content for D2 is not going to revive that game, this sounds like a move to keep people employed while they get Sony to approve a new project.

The ones holding their value are the extremely rare (under 100 printed) cards, MTG thankfully hasn't reach that social status symbol and scalpers can't charge infinite money for everything it gets released...yet.

I'm not 100% sure, scalpers already got gutted with the FF set after all the hype ended they realized MTG players actually play with the cards, so most people just buy the cheap version of the card to wear it down with use, the rarest foil ones went from like ~$700 at their peak to current ~$150.

Personally I buy most of my games digitally but everything has consequences; Once people can’t buy cheap used or clearance sale games the console storefront discounts are going to dry out significantly, what’s the point of discounting a game if you are the only distributing it anyways.

Yeah all digital is unavoidable because publishers want to get rid off the second hand market, the “80% of sales sre digital” number is bloated, companies are accounting for everything they sell digitally (dlc, indie games, etc), data shows that new releases available in both formats are 40/60.

Xbox can do this because every Xbox disc (post Xbox One) have a unique ID that can br associated with your account, PlayStation discs don’t have this.
