Say hello to Nova! She’s the protagonist of my new oneshot I’m debuting this October. This Josei oneshot will take place during the 2008 recession in a cosmetics company whose COO is a ‘reformed’ delinquent.

So we all saw that Kodansha Manga Academy hard launched the gender neutral rebirth of shonen and seinen manga into genres right? Now it’s “manga about adventure, friendship, and hard hitting realities of life….and stuff for girls and women I guess.”

Anyone who tells you they don’t like romance manga mean they don’t like Shoujo romances because I hardly ever hear a peep about the shonen ones. I have other indie manga colleagues who do shonen romance and the difference in reception between them and me is STAGGERING

Finally getting around to using my traditional manga materials 🙇🏻‍♀️ I’m starting a new series where I practice using things like dip pen and screentones while making fanart for shoujo mangaka I admire! First up is: Princess Gloom and the Amorous Raven by Akira Osora published in LaLa Magazine!

Twitter is such a cess pool. You make ONE observation that you know for a fact applies to some people and everyone assumes you’re chastising them 😭😭 I PROMISE you!!! I genuinely do not care wtf you read or find boring or whatever but when you say a genre as a WHOLE and is badly written slop ???

I think I severely underestimated how much fandom is just….fans. Like a very few are fan artists, fanfic writers, or just people who create things I don’t mind anime and manga commentary people but wow they’ve boomed while I wasn’t paying attention. I need to get out of my art circles more 😭

I think it’s funny that whenever I introduce myself as a shojo mangaka I never really get the usual “westerner thinks they can make manga” remarks that my shonen/seinen colleagues do it’s usually just a blank look of surprise and then something along the lines of “oh wow didn’t know that existed”
