HEY Being in an art group has done a lot for my mental health and for getting me motivated to draw backgrounds. I do a lot of these... for a small sampling: in this one, i hid an alligator and a giant green anaconda bsky.app/profile/tonn...

An lays butt ass naked in a massive overgrown greenhouse, having some snacks by the edge of a similarly overgrown pool. rising from the center of the pool is a very big dragon with sharp curved antlers. around it are a bunch of trees growing around the outside of a cement patio.
there are a lot of things hidden in this picture.

a close up on a distant part of the pool. though it's drawn indistinctly, this is an alligator.

a more discernible snake, drawn as a very flat looking creature with a wide head and brownish body. it is easily twice as long as the human character in the picture, possibly even longer, but we can't see exactly how long it is because it's hidden by vegetation.

Haven, an extremely tall and eerily pale man, stands in a house or apartment hallway near a slatted door to a boiler room closet. He is taller than the doorframe by a good margin.
He looks down at the viewer with a smug look, carefully neutral but still bulying so e sense of amusement. His eyes have black scleras, gold irises and red glowing slit pupils; his hair is long and falls over his right shoulder, and it has a strange, unearthly look - black strands that reflect intensely copper-red in the artificial light, too shiny for human hair, and falling in crunchy jagged loose waves like it's never seen conditioner in his life. His hands hang loose at his sides.

He's wearing a silly shirt, the cause of the image. The shirt seems like it was once a shade of white or light gray, but was splattered with blood and dirt until it's naw a half-red, stained mess. Across the chest, in vinyl text in the dripping "chiller" font, it reads "problem solved".

The piece is half a photo and have a digital painting. The shirt and the background are photographs. the character himself, including his face and his limbs, have been painted on. nothing remains of the original person in the photo except for the vaguest implication of their body under the shirt.

A quick and somewhat off-model drawing of a friend's oc, @nunbird.bsky.social's Tenebrae

Tenebrae, an anthro OC shaped like a short-haired black dog with a long tail featuring a tuft of wavy fur at the end, fins on his face and back, and a loop of metal at the top of his head like a horn, stands silhouetted in front of a gray wall with a bright red glowing panel inset in it. Another Haven drawing. Never been fully satisfied with this one.

One, on the left, is red, purple, and cream-colored, with an ominous expression and smile. It has very long pointed ears and iridescent fairy-like wings. It also has a long tail that has a cream tip like a fox's might. It has hands making a 'grabby' shape, and one of those hands is holding a metallic gold plastic cane. It also has hand-shaped feet, instead of feet that look like normal labubu feet.

The second one is a patchy multicolor. Its body has a base color that goes from a bright yellow to a sort of peachy pinkish-orange. Over that, in dark gray, are a number of irregular patches like the markings on a spotted cow or perhaps a koi fish. It has these same dark gray markings painted on its face and hands. Its eyes are odd, colored with very dark gray outsides, gold irises and a diamond-shaped red pupil. Its hands are almost shaped like paws, and its feet are definitely shaped like paws. In one hand, it has a metallic briefcase. It has very short triangular ears that almost look like a Scottish Fold cat's.

The ground is fake wood-patterned tile, slightly dirty. There are stains underneath the toys, and a ribbon lying across the side. A shoelace is just barely visible in the bottom left and a piece of paper can be seen lying on the floor in the top left.

There is a lot of motion blur on the picture, like the photographer couldn't really keep the camera steady.

Haven, an OC who looks like a tall man with very long hair, walks purposefully up a winding path up a hill. At the top of the hill, looming ominously, is a massive, decrepit mansion. The gate in front has a mangled wrought-iron fence that hangs open, too twisted to shut securely. Behind it, eerie fog rises before the main part of the mansion. One window of the imposing house glows impossibly brightly. The others are dark. The house itself is crumbling, and to the right, the nearest wing has crumbled under the advances of time and weather, bringing part of the roof down. The fields of what once were grass before the house are unkempt and wild, and trees grow twisted near the wall. The entire thing glows an eerie pink.

A two-panel comic painted in bizarre, extremely bright artificial color in a sort of grimy rainbow color palette. Haven is walking through waist-high water in a cave, with one hand on one wall and the other hand in the water near as he can be to touching the other wall. He looks miserable, and he's shouting:

"I am seriously at my fucking limit, I fucking haaaaaate it here. I'm going to start eating fucking rocks I swear to--"

He's cut off by a warbly, warped version of what he said echoing back at him.

In the second panel, at the bottom of the page, he stops, listening. "Huh," he says. "Either the voices in my head have gotten a lot less morbid and depressing, or that's an echo."

In the second page, he emerges from a crevice in the the back wall into a very wide chamber in the cave, almost like a sea. The water in the cave is rippling of its own volition, forming small waves despite being theoretically-untouched for ages.

"Woah," Haven says, stepping in.

In the third page, Haven is clinging to a stalagmite in a racing current, looking panicked, but also a little embarrased; however, he's right next to land. A strange-looking creature that vaguely looks to be made of meat leans down to talk to him.

Haven, an oc with glowing red pupils and very long red hair, leans down a cracked stone passageway that opens onto a steep and crumbling staircase. The area he's in is clearly outdoors, and overgrown, but the plants only penetrate a small way into the passageway.
An arrow pointing to him labels him "claustrophobic, and not a big fan of the dark either".

Haven leans into the passageway, one hand on the ceiling and one on the wall, and says: "Wow! It looks absolutely fucking abysmal down there. All the money in the world couldn't get me into this ugly fucking grimy-looking pit--"

Haven steps forward onto the second-topmost stair and there is a terrible crack as the step crumbles instantly beneath his feet...

… and he slips and falls, face-first, down the tunnel.

Two of my ocs - Haven and Taran - and a third OC, an immortal vampire - are in a grocery store of some sort.

Taran, an older man, is sitting on the ground in a puddle of blood, huddled up against the window. He's holding a wad of white fabric against a wound on his chest, which doesn't seem to be stopping the blood much. In spite of that, he's got a very cheery demeanor, and is waving. Very near him, in blood, is a wavy arrow pointing toward the door on the window, clearly intended to be viewed from the outside. He's also got a bottle of juice on the windowsill next to him.

Haven is a younger-looking man with very long hair. He is standing in the middle of the room, gesturing angrily, and pointing at the character in the doorway.

The character in the doorway has just forced the door open, past piles of grocery items on the floor and a chair that was blocking it. There's a shelf she had to push out of the way, too, laying on the floor; the entire room is a mess because of it. She's a vampire of sorts, with blood streaming down her face from her mouth. Her clothes are ripped, and there are a handful of arrows bristling from her back. In one hand she shoves the door open and with the other she's holding a sword in a reversed grip. Her eyes glow an uncanny shade of blue, and she's grinning wildly as she locks eyes on Taran.

A drawing of three of my ocs, symbolically representing the relationship between the three.

Erica, a wide-eyed young woman, sits perched on top of a box. She is smiling in a way that looks pretty forced and kind of anxious, and is holding a leash in her hands.

Inside the box is Haven, a very large naked man who is being compressed into a very small square. He is visibly having a panic attack and is trying to brace himself against the edges of the box as though it's getting smaller on him.

Outside, sitting on the ground and leaning on the box, is Taran, an older man who mostly just looks tired, wearing nothing but underwear and a collar. The collar is clipped to a leash, which he has wrapped a few times around one hand, before it drapes over the box; Erica is holding the other end.

These three characters are kind of like this; Erica spends a lot of time faking one expression to avoid being put in the situation that the box Haven is in is metaphorically representing. Haven is in a box, doing his best not to be crushed by its confines while being bent out of shape. And Taran, who is working with Erica but isn't controlled as closely as she thinks, is mostly waiting for them both to relax and the situation to end, but he's not really letting anyone yank his chain as much as they think they are.

Taran is losing very badly. He has four pieces left, and is currently being put in check. Within two moves, the game is set up to put him into checkmate.

At the top of the image, in the background, there is a piece of a tumblr post that reads: "When you are brutally losing at chess implore your opponent to look inwards it's called the my little pony gambit"

Floating in the background is a text conversation, which the characters are saying.

Haven says: "Do you think I'm dumb?"
Taran replies: "I think you have more kindness in your heart than you think. You can stop this. You have the power to stop this. Choose love."
Haven, moving his piece, says: "My little pony has turned you into someone I don't recognize."

Another Hetherev bit with Griffyne's Hudson. here Haven's mind-control power is on display, and so is Griff's Hudson's magic cloning power. #hetherev #OCsky

Haven demands: "Hey! You! Give me the flashlight!" Color on his speech bubble indicates that that last comment was not optional - he is using mind control to force Hudson to hand it over.
Hudson responds: "Oh! Yep! One second..."

Hudson obligingly puts his hands together to conjure a second flashlight out of thin air.

Panel 3: Hudson holds the new flashlight out to Haven, who stands there staring in abject shock. He doesn't look like he's about to take the flashlight.

Panel 4: A close-up on Haven's baffled, slightly alarmed face superimposed over shattering glass. The man hs just found out that magic exists. His entire understanding of the world is being violently readjusted right now.

Panel 5: A close-up on Hudson's extremely alarmed face as his mind catches up to the rest of him. He's just been mind-controlled - and he didn't know people could do that.

The final piece of the comic is two overlapping speech bubbles, showing text from both characters laid over each other.
Haven: "How the fuck did you do that!?"
Hudson: "How did you do that?!"
