If your game needs an auto run to next quest, has to pause and force the player to look at highlighted mechanics for managing their character, but all of it is an illusion of choice, then you fucked up. Go back to the drawing board and copy classic World of Warcraft, please. It's not that hard.

In Aion 2 like yeah there are also packets of enemies everywhere, but if you're not fighting them for a specific quest, there is no incentive to grind and see if maybe a rare item will drop. In fact enemies dont drop anything or give experience. Only quests do that.

What really bothers me is how you have zero agency. There's no sense of discovery, and the game punishes you for trying to explore or play your own way. Aion 1 gave you unlimited freedom and the chance to explore and experience its content.

Trying out Aion 2 now that it has officially launched, and I think the devs missed the point of what an MMORPG is. Like this could have just shipped as a $50 single player RPG instead because that is effectively what it is.
