Oh yeah nothing wrong with a good death cap and belladonna soup I guess

Ometo 𔑳 @ometo.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

I'd be wary of someone who makes such a large quantity of soup in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and with what ingredients

Just began reading some Perry Rhodan and it's stupidly fun space opera. Love it Check the original German covers on Perrypedia, they're insane (those of the Japanese edition too)

Today it's my birthday! Yay I feel old! Taking the opportunity to post this adorable pic by @bartek22.bsky.social of my roecoon boy Lani with a steampunk/medfan twist! Big sword, shining armour, goggles and a powerful jetpack, now he looks like a real knight. A rocket knight, even. Cheers! 🍻

That's because Émile-Gustave phones him every night around 3 AM just to make the "Allô ? À l'huile" joke

Back then our national TV service used Trilogy as the theme song for a book show so I assume a few intellectuals here enjoyed how weird it was!

One of the telegraph towers of Wantael was already depicted in the background of one of @rimou.bsky.social's artworks, published last year. Different tower, different signal, same design!

Wantael Island's semaphore network was inaugurated nearly two centuries, in 2306 TCE, under Elman IV's reign. It has become a great source of pride for the islanders and is still active to this day, coexisting with modern telecommunication devices: telephones, teleprinters, radios, TVs, etc.

Some crops of @goblinpng.bsky.social's illustration because they're totally worth it!

Wantael Island, local time 1,00 (6 AM). Two boys have been drinking and partying all night long. The genet now thinks he's a telegraph tower. The roecoon just wants to go to bed. Beautiful artwork by @goblinpng.bsky.social! Lani and Taray are my original characters.

Two lads on a beach at dawn. Two moons on their first quarter are shining in the sky. The sun is still low on the horizon, casting a red-pink hue on the landscape. Cliffs can be seen in the distance.

In the background, an optical telegraph/semaphore tower with its red and white lights on, transmitting signals.

In the foreground: Taray, a common genet wearing his usual blue woolen cardigan and black cargo pants and wooden sandals. He looks overjoyed, dancing, energetically mimicking the shapes of the telegraph signals with his arms and legs. Seems like the party's not over!

Near him, his boyfriend Lani, a roe deer-raccoon hybrid in a red cardigan, grey cargo pants and wooden sandals. He's sitting on a log, rubbing his eyes with his fingertips. Looks like he needs a good night of sleep!

Extremely happy to be able to share this recent commission from @5suns.bsky.social, featuring a little crossover with some otherworldly explorers. Including @ometo.bsky.social's roecoon, Lani, who doesn't seem to fond of certain smaller locals taking an interest in his film stock.

Got myself a new rock! This is a cobalt spinel. Spinel is what gives it its beautiful electric blue colour. Thought the huge burdock leaves along the local river would provide a nice contrast! #Gems #Gemstone

PS: Hadn't seen your post on FA. So if there are eight seats in the district with as many as 20 candidates and you vote for one, it is indeed SNTV with (presumably) some amount of competition within the party. Typical elections in postwar Japan had less candidates than that. Not too bad!

150

If they could vote for as many candidates as they wanted, that'd be approval voting which would be fine for single-winning elections but wouldn't provide proportionality. There's an interesting multi-winner proportional version of it though, called SPAV

"Mark "X" on the box of your single preferred (...)" Uuuh I do hope they don't vote in single-member districts cause it's FPTP then and it's the worst voting system ever 😭 If they have multi-member ones, it's SNTV which has its problems but *can* be ± proportional (see Japan 1900-1993)

And the blood types! Don't forget the blood types!
