Today it's my birthday! Yay I feel old! Taking the opportunity to post this adorable pic by @bartek22.bsky.social of my roecoon boy Lani with a steampunk/medfan twist! Big sword, shining armour, goggles and a powerful jetpack, now he looks like a real knight. A rocket knight, even. Cheers! 🍻

One of the telegraph towers of Wantael was already depicted in the background of one of @rimou.bsky.social's artworks, published last year. Different tower, different signal, same design!

Wantael Island's semaphore network was inaugurated nearly two centuries, in 2306 TCE, under Elman IV's reign. It has become a great source of pride for the islanders and is still active to this day, coexisting with modern telecommunication devices: telephones, teleprinters, radios, TVs, etc.

Wantael Island, local time 1,00 (6 AM). Two boys have been drinking and partying all night long. The genet now thinks he's a telegraph tower. The roecoon just wants to go to bed. Beautiful artwork by @goblinpng.bsky.social! Lani and Taray are my original characters.

Two lads on a beach at dawn. Two moons on their first quarter are shining in the sky. The sun is still low on the horizon, casting a red-pink hue on the landscape. Cliffs can be seen in the distance.

In the background, an optical telegraph/semaphore tower with its red and white lights on, transmitting signals.

In the foreground: Taray, a common genet wearing his usual blue woolen cardigan and black cargo pants and wooden sandals. He looks overjoyed, dancing, energetically mimicking the shapes of the telegraph signals with his arms and legs. Seems like the party's not over!

Near him, his boyfriend Lani, a roe deer-raccoon hybrid in a red cardigan, grey cargo pants and wooden sandals. He's sitting on a log, rubbing his eyes with his fingertips. Looks like he needs a good night of sleep!

Extremely happy to be able to share this recent commission from @5suns.bsky.social, featuring a little crossover with some otherworldly explorers. Including @ometo.bsky.social's roecoon, Lani, who doesn't seem to fond of certain smaller locals taking an interest in his film stock.

Got myself a new rock! This is a cobalt spinel. Spinel is what gives it its beautiful electric blue colour. Thought the huge burdock leaves along the local river would provide a nice contrast! #Gems #Gemstone

... Star rubies are indeed important to sailors in Lani's world. On planet Welfa, the equivalent of Polaris is a bright red giant star called Keranedi, the sailors's guiding star. For these men, a star ruby is more than a lucky charm. It is their guide-stone, their lifeline on the vast ocean. END

Just out of a hot shower, his fur still shaggy, Lani is relaxing on his bed, scribbling with his favourite fountain pen, admiring his star ruby cabochon. This gem, which belonged to his father Marka, is one of the roecoon's most treasured possessions... (cont'd) Art by the fantastic @dunetides.art!

There is an unusual fruit stall at the Gazamolt market. Except fruits cost, like, €20 apiece. Would you buy them? Perhaps not. Well, unless the fruit seller had spicy leporellos as giveaways? Tasteful prints. Artistically made, for the adult connoisseur. (Minors GTFO!) 🖌️ @goblinpng.bsky.social

A market stall in a small town under a bright summer sun. A variety of fruits is being displayed. Apples, pears, melons, peaches, garlands of bladder cherries. Taray, a genet, appreciately browses through a concertina book full of racy (tasteful nudes) art prints. Turns out the fruit seller, a jackal with a sly grin, is actually selling them under the counter! That's how you circumvent local regulations, folks. Let's hope the gendarmes look the other way!

Time for @sakarafox.bsky.social's cave foxes to be the Wantaelians' guests! Kuveli loves riding Sakara's mare Pekka, so when Lani mentioned his motorbike and explained what it was, the kid asked for a race on a local country road! Plenty of fun—at 60 kph! Art by the great @rimou.bsky.social!

An improvised race on a small brick road on Wantael Island in late Spring. Green fields and pastures, reminiscent of Ireland, Cornwall or Brittany. Blooming brooms and elderberries.

In a background: the ocean coast, an optical telegraph tower and a village with isolated houses. Sheep grazing here and there.

On the left, my fursona Lani, riding his orange motorcycle, with Kuveli, a young cave fox, as a passenger, euphoric with the speed. On the right, Sakara, a prehistoric fox, riding his grey mare Pekka, with my genet OC Taray as a passenger. Both have blue body paint on them. The viverrid looks overjoyed, likely from holding the fox tight.

A specimen of the Lentekan script, unwittingly written from right to left. Which makes sense, after all. Since the Lentekans were contrarian enough to create their own writing system, writing direction had to be different, too. Down with the ocean god heathens! #conscript #conlang

Day 2 of the Wantaelian diplomatic mission in Lentavohi territory! Gifts were exchanged including amber jewelry (a nonexistent material on Lani and Taray's planet), a flint spear, and a sexy outfit for the genet. Time for assistant Kuveli to shoot a little newsreel with Lani's 1/3" movie camera!

Four characters in prehistoric clothes near a boreal lake at sunrise, in late Spring or early Summer. Sun is low on the horizon. The waters are perfectly idle, mirroring the sky. Flowers blooming in the grass, reeds on the lakeside.

Standing on the left: Sakara the fox of the Lentavohi tribe, chatting with one of the Wantaelians who came from the mysterious portal: Taray, a tall and lean genet in a fur jockstrap, happily wielding a flint spear.

On the right: Lani, a roecoon (roe deer-raccoon hybrid), standing near Kuveli, a fox teenager from the Lentavohi. The little one is crouching, enthusiastically decorating Lani's 1/3 inch movie camera with flowers and paw prints made from yellow ochre. The roecoon is observing him with some curiosity, possibly giving him some tips and ideas.

Both visitors are wearing amber jewels, some decorating Lani's antlers.

Lani piloting the Wantael Island Coast Guards fiery red and gold autogyro a few hundred feet above ground and still going up, with Taray in the passenger seat.
