Silver & Iron: Part Four Pages 13/33

Heliotrope and Sorrel stand on the threshold of her old house looking into a small but quaint hallway. An ornate light fixture hangs from the ceiling, coats and shoes line the nearest wall, mail is collecting on the floor by the mail slot, and a wilted flower drops its petals from a vase on a chest of drawers. It's dark out, but even darker inside, so the two vampires cast a long shadow, backlit save for their piercing red eyes. They pause there a moment, their faces in shadows. Sorrel, gravely: "May I come in?" Heliotrope, emotionless: "Yeah." As Sorrel speaks, different panels show rooms that can be seen through archways in the hall. "It's best not to turn the lights on. Your neighbours might get suspicious. You shouldn't have much trouble seeing." More dead house plants in a small carpeted living room. A coffee table by an old fireplace has a half-finished jigsaw puzzle with three distinct piles of pieces and more games underneath. A dining room has a hutch, bookshelf, and still cuckoo clock. On the table is a school backpack, its contents spilling out, a water bottle stood next to it. Sorrel: "Was there a room you wanted to start with?" A sofa shaped for one of the house's small bay windows, its blinds not drawn, open books scattered on its cushions. "Or we could just put a bag in each one and see what strikes you."

Sorrel puts a hand on Heliotrope's shoulder. "Poppet?" Heliotrope jumps and turns to him; she says nothing, but the curve of her brow and her wide eyes communicate that she may feel overwhelmed by the reality of her situation. Sorrel pauses before he continues, his face passive, non-judgemental. "We have all night. Or we could come back another time, if you'd like." Heliotrope turns to face forward again and frowns. "My bedroom was upstairs," she says, taking the suitcases up an L-shaped staircase at the end of the short hall. "Lead the way," Sorrel says, adjusting his own bags. Heliotrope is not reflected in the hall mirror.

The Squeakuel

4 panel comic in which an offscreen chef tries to slip diarrhea into a customer's burger by adding it to various parts of the meal including the lettuce, the bun, the sesame seeds, and then the plate it's served on. When questioned on this, the chef stoically responds, "Everyone is going to eat diarrhea in 10 years"

They've got such a lovely dynamic going on, and Heliotrope is so cute doing her BIG JUMP! 🦘 Also loving the subtle Twilight discourse and the secret third option to team Edward/team Jacob. 👌 Heli and Sorrel are vampires so they clearly have expert opinions on the matter

An older art piece I was commissioned to make to represent the arc of Amazon Lily 🐍I loved getting to emphasise so many different Kuja women! #OnePiece

Colour fanart for One Piece featuring various Kuja women from the island Amazon Lily, ready for battle. In addition to the three Boa sisters commanding from the centre - Hancock, Marigold, and Sandersonia - along with the elder Gloriosa, the illustration also includes Ran, Daisy, Cosmos, Rindo, Blue Fan, Marguerite, Sweet Pea, Aphelandra, and Kikyo, plus Hancock's giant snake Salome. Boa is looking down her nose in the direction the rest of the Kuja are charging, their snake-weapons drawn.

More writers need to let their characters and stories be messy!! I don't necessarily mean going out of your way to introduce drama for the sake of drama. But I do think a lot of writers see the opportunity for mess, but get scared, and try to neutralise it rather than digging into it

I've had to unfriend a few fans lately, all for the same reason. They made ridiculing, unkind, and in some cases outright cruel comments about pictures I posted of young women cosplaying Jessica.
More than a person, Jessica is a state of mind. To play Jessica, you need self -confidence, a sense of humor, and a Jessican -attitude-. There is no such thing as a Jessica cosplayer being too short, too flat chested, too heavy, too thin, too unattractive, too black, too Asian, or even too male!!! All Jessica, any Jessica, every Jessica is good Jessica.
I'm not giving any warnings or second chances. A single disparaging comment on a Jessica cosplayer, and I'm throwing you out of the rainbow colored Toontown Tent.
