Now that the Herky D's have been harvested, it's time to pickle them. After washing them with soap and water, I remove pieces with calcite/dolomite and dolostone host rock, then put them in a jar with white vinegar. The acid reacts with the carbonate minerals and weakens/removes a lot of residue.

5 hours of surface picking at the KOA Herkimer Diamond Mines in Herkimer NY vs 5 hours at Crystal Grove in St Johnsville. I know where I'm going next year.

I wasn't sure how to differentiate between visited/stayed, so selected places where I've had multiple extended trips staying at family/friends houses, or (in the case of Maine & the Southwest) college excursions/field camp. I'm still mad about hitting Texas yet missing Louisiana and Oklahoma.

I think a good technique for writing characters who suddenly gain special powers is to have them fuck up using it at first. Especially when they use it in a fight. Then you can show them actively problem-solving under pressure as they try getting it to do what they want. Free character development!

I'm looking at level 90+ leveling content Paladin shields for glam ideas, as it's highly likely the new Bastion weapons created for the same set will resemble them. The Bygone Brass Shield looks like it was designed for Bastion. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole line is to fit with Hringhorni.
