I think writing people off is a coping strategy that can aid your mental health by offloading things from your to-do list. But I don't think anyone is inherently unreachable. Circumstantially, perhaps. Too dangerous, perhaps. You're not likely to accomplish it through social media, after all.

Kind of trivial but it's funny, I have actually not noticed any difference between how people treated me before vs after transitioning. I have no idea what that means about my experience of gender tbh. Maybe that I have successfully avoided overly gendered experiences for most of my adult life.

A lot of discussion here about how these words apply to specific fields. Just want to remind everyone that "bias" applies to ANY attempt to gain accurate information about ANYTHING. A researcher can have bias. Your methods can be biased. Your instruments can be biased. Your model can be biased.

Something I am pretty excited about is this book I picked up at a science café last night. Super interested in works like this. The audacity & synthesis across disparate fields... Leads to huge holes in the logic but I like the unorthodox thinking. Feels like how science was a few centuries ago.

The new administration is scary but I personally am doing fine. I have an odd sense of zen knowing that whatever happens, the worst years of my life are behind me. Even if I had to detransition, they can't make me forget who I am. But my heart breaks for the trans kids who are growing up now.
