Swifts are disappearing but Scotland has just passed a simple law to revive them. They will install swift bricks on all new buildings. Tiny cost. Huge ecological impact. Imagine if every country legislated for life like this.

BREAKING: Big Oil was responsible for over 600 spills in UK waters in 2025, 85 of which were in or next to PROTECTED AREAS! 🌊🛢️ This equates to TONNES of toxic oil poisoning our seas and threatening precious wildlife, like porpoises, puffins and seals 🐬🦭 Enough. It’s time for change. 1/2🔽

It's #WorldMonkeyDay today! Despite being only a few short branches away from us on the tree of life, more than half of all primate species (monkeys included!) face extinction. By studying and protecting the natural world, we secure a brighter future not just for the monkeys, but ourselves as well.

🎉 HUGE NEWS: The EU Court has confirmed marine protected areas must be PROPERLY protected from bottom trawling! Countries must act to fulfil their legal duty to safeguard these areas from destruction. This is an absolute WIN for our ocean. 🙌 1/2 www.clientearth.org/latest/press...

Bottom trawling is horribly destructive to coastal ocean ecosystems, and deep-sea mining will do the same to the open ocean. #OceanFilm 🌊

Spring reminder, as people start to think about gardening: NEVER buy compost with peat it in (inexplicably still on sale). If it does not say "peat free" in big letters, do not buy it. Peat is incredibly valuable in peat bogs, for rare biodiversity and as a carbon store. Don't put it on your garden!

Economists expect people and companies to be rational actors who use cost-benefit analysis in decision-making But capitalists say it's fine for countries to act irrationally and allow things that generate much bigger costs than benefits So long as the benefit is private and the cost is socialised
