Found this in a buck bin at a Santa Cruz bookstore - biography of Jim Foshee, a gay man who came out in the late 1950s, and was connected to several pioneering gay right groups, including The Mattachine Society. Fascinating read.

I have a lot of friends in recovery - I'm very happy for, & supportive of them. that doesn't mean I want them to be able to scam people for eternity or that their lifelong histories of bad decision making should be ignored. If Hunter's last name was Trump his current defenders would be silent

The effort to rehab Hunter Biden's reputation is embarrassing- he repeatedly used his position as the son of a VP - and then president - to enrich himself. Every part of his life is a disaster... personal, professional and ethical failures at every step. Just... no.

I do wonder at what point the tech giants' acquiescence to Trump may have an unforeseen backlash: calls from Dems to break them up as monopolies with too much power? Google/Alphabet is certainly a ripe target there, and they may regret alienating Democrats over stupid shit like this

The destruction of USAID will go down in global history as one of the most lethal political disasters ever. An estimated 14 million people will die from this decision by 2030… twice the number killed in the Holocaust. The collective human grief will mark humanity forever.
