They escalated hostilities that derailed negotiations with a doomsday cult in Waco. They will continue to murder in Minneapolis and elsewhere. They will not stop.

The actual numbers are made-up bullshit and he's generally made prices go up. But what he's trying to communicate is the inverse of markup. If I mark up by 600%, the new price is 7x the old. So "-600%" he's trying to communicate a new price 1/7 of the old. We don't have good language to convey this.

I believe in unions and strong labor and abolition from unjust hierarchy, where all stakeholders are continued and no one is exploited. And also the only way to do this is with pluralism. You have to let people be free to disagree. Reconciliation of adversarial positions is how we improve consensus.

Same with Reagan/Bush era conservatives, yes we disagree on economic fundamentals but right now the very baseline of civil and plural society is under attack, and preserving this common ground is how we make disagreement safe and possible. Labor freedom requires bedrock democracy, not autocracy.

For example, see this preprint on arxiv that found mechanical constraints (skull case size) correlate much more strongly to brain folding than phylogeny, it's preserved across the whole clade, with diverged species with similar skull size being more similar than closely related with different sizes.

Not to be contrarian, but perhaps we should start from the hypothesis that the mileu in which an organism evolved might play a role in how it develops. Biological/Biochemical processes exist in a world with physics, so it should not come as a surprise that biology relies on mechanical forces.

I'm not anti-AI as a tool, but Abliterated (safeguards removed) models are freely available and I have run them locally. It's already too late

My perhaps more controversial opinion is that scientists should know their experiments and data noise sources well enough to be able to produce realistic fake data, and also be selected for the integrity to never ever do so. At least with this crowd, when they fake it, they do it badly.

Yeah, science tries to prove itself wrong. And what survives gets refined, and we all get better knowledge, and hopefully that converges to the truth. There are some notable instances of bubbles/consenses that end up being upended, but that's the error of human nature, not the ideal process.
