The US used to be a rational entity, but right now it’s a powerful beast fuelled by anger and rage, all of its actions (Even the well intentioned ones) cause massive collateral damage, and it could beat the shit out of us.

I picture the relationship between the US and the U.K. as that one scene in Avengers where the Loki says he’s a god and Hulk smashes him and says “puny god” We’re full of ourselves, we used to have power, and we’ve done some questionable things, but we’re nowhere near as powerful as we think we are

This started as Google translations, with native Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Chinese speakers already confirming/modifying the sentences. Is there anyone who speaks: Arabic, German, French, Hindu, Korean, Portuguese and Russian to check the others too?

Apparently we don’t have a word for jigsaw puzzle… It’s just a “picture pieces riddle…”

Omar Kooheji 🍉 @ohmz.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

The Arabic word for puzzle is more like riddle. But my guess is that is the right usage?

Both assertions in your post are true and part of the same narrative though? There’s no need for a distinction? AI uses a lot of water to cool DC’s, which puts a lot of stress on local water reserves. There is no world in which AI and the proliferation of DC’s is good for the environment.

Genuinely can’t tell if I’m intrigued or horrified by this mouse with a screen I got an advert for on Instagram. It looks like an ergonomic nightmare, but I’m a sucker for weird tech. Willing to bet it costs a bomb, the preview site doesn’t mention price.

LLMs are fancy autocorrect, probabilistic algorithms can generate output which says it feels pain, but only becuase it was trained to say that.

Small water changes yes, but having to do a 10% to 25% water change on a 400l saltwater tank is a massive pain in the arse.

So Curb your enthusiasm apparently is a point of contention, the hour long special was 1999 but the series started in 2000. The 21’st century started on January 1st 2001 which means a few others are too early.

Omar Kooheji 🍉 @ohmz.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

There’s at least one show in there that also started in 1999. Can’t remember which one.

Yeah, I think it’s rage bait to get people talking about it and sharing. No West Wing, Sopranos, Avatar the Last Airbender, Firefly, among others.

The youngest person his pager attack killed was 9-year-old Fatima Abdullah, who had just started 4th grade. The pager was on a table when it went off and she picked it up to take to her dad. It exploded in her face and reports said it covered the room in her blood. She wanted to learn English.

I've had queer (cis) friends say that they "just want to enjoy the new adaptation uncomplicatedly", but the sad truth is that that is not possible—and never has been. I'll shout it from the rooftops once again: Starve her of oxygen. LET 👏 THE 👏 IP 👏 DIE 👏. Grieve it, then let it go COMPLETELY.
