This. When “frontier” started getting deployed in context of AI, I thought “Were there no humanities majors in the room?” Maybe some marketing team thought it romantically evoked pushing boundaries/space exploration. But it also connotes lawlessness, exploitation of people and resources, even death.

I am clearly in the minority here… but anyway… I work on a team of 4 people where a woman brings up American Football as a social chat topic at the end of the meeting and most of the men on the team (including myself) are NOT active participants in the topic because they don’t watch the NFL. 🤷🤷‍♀️

It’s neat seeing QSL cards on BlueSky. At least that activity is still alive and well on Ham Radio but I wonder if shortwave radio stations still send out QSL cards with an RX report. (And do post offices still issue IRCs?)

I don't think we are talking loudly enough about this. Staring this November 2026, there will be a 1 HOUR TIME DIFFERENCE between: * The Greater Vancouver BC area, and * Point Roberts, WA - in the dark red box below. The thick gray line right north of Point Roberts, WA, is the US-Canada border.

Just south of the Tsawwassen ferry terminal is an area known as Point Roberts, and that is on the US side. There is no boat service nor airport at this peninsula, so residents of Point Roberts, WA, have to enter Canada to go shopping, to travel anywhere.
