Since June, my father was hospitalized twice, and we had to put our dog down. Along side that sorrow, we've stepped closer and closer to publication. Honestly, the thing I'm proudest of is my sobriety through all of this. Praise God!

I pray that when my little business becomes a big business, I'm able to enforce 3-5 paid days off every 12 weeks from the hire date. That's amongst other things, but I keep thinking about how a few days off every 3 months would have helped me. Also, 6 hour work days.

I didn't attend the Hands Off protests. I did look at a lot of photos/videos. I noted a lack of Anti-War and Pro-Immigrant Rights posters. I know there's a lot of issues to stand up for, but it looked like a lot of "this is affecting me, so I'm upset about this" signs. Please correct me if I'm wrong

I read a quote that said independence is a sign of incompetence.... that hurt my ego so badly. But when I sat down and thought about it, I was/am incompetent in asking for help. Interdependence and collaboration are the goals now.

Accept that God made me out of love. It took 36 years for me to receive that message and accept in my heart (I'm 38). My ego fought it because hating myself felt easier. But once I did, everything else fell into place. Even on my worst days, I am settled by that spiritual fact.

Shop local, shop secondhand, support your artsy friends, learn to make the product yourself! And if there is a product you like that target (etc) carries, you can go to the website of the actual product and order. A lot of brands ship for free. If you HAVE to have it, cut the middleman out.
