Germany's intelligence service BND says Russia's federal deficit was actually 3.6% of GDP in '25, not 2.6%. This was exactly my final estimate in December, based on past spending patterns (random but funny: I estimated 8.02 trillion). If true, the deficit was probably hidden in other public budgets.

Apparently, the IRGC is indeed concerned about the recent news. This whole thing could be exaggerated, but if I were to take this war on the ground, I'd start in Kurdistan as well. It's about 600 km from Marivan to Tehran, and Israel maintains air superiority along the route.

This is accurate on many levels. I must remind you all that, even before the war began, most Iranians already felt as if they had fought and lost a war. The atmosphere in the country was much more miserable than it is right now. Though I'm not sure how long that'll last.

Ali Larijani is doing everything he can these days to take full control of the regime. He has rejected talks with the US and declared that "we are ready for a long war." To sum up the gist of Macron's nuclear speech: he is offering to forward-deploy the air leg of French nuclear forces to the territory of European allies. Decision-making will remain with the French president, and the arrangement will exist outside of NATO. He call this "forward deterrence."
