Onto something, though. He‘s testified under oath that he has proof of crimes committed that would stand up in court. The case was also dismissed without prejudice, so it can be brought to trial again. If we can get through the midterms and actually seat anyone afterwards.

Celebration, but also, legitimate, outrage. It would have been a massive abuse of the separation of powers and clearly prejudicial, as far as any jury trial is concerned. The courts are, somehow, still dismissing cases now because the president said something. Smith seems to have genuinely been

Because Biden, in his naivety, didn’t count on his AG doing something predictable, but still refrained from pressuring him because it would immediately taint any attempt at prosecution in court and public opinion. He had to adhere to the rule of law because, yes, there would have been lots of

After his personal enemies. He promised more and worse and that’s not the guy who’s actually going to follow through on a promise to bring peace to the Middle East because it’s so easy, he swears. There was every reason not to expect that to be the one promise he’d keep. And he didn’t.

But I will never agree with trading even more lives so that nothing would be done to try and actually stop it. The President is not an honest man, he never has been, except for when he says he’s going to do something terrible. He did build the concentration camps, he did use the government to go

It’s our responsibility to vote for good governance. That‘s why it’s called a civic duty. It isn’t just about the person who takes office but all of the people they empower. I know we’ll never agree. The genocide is horrifying and you have every right to be enraged.

The Smithsonian is funded by Congress and heavily intertwined with the federal government, but it's not an executive branch agency. The president is not even nominally their boss. He has absolutely no lawful power to issue orders to them.

Congratulations, you killed more than seven and a half times as many people in a single year (2025-2026) than Israel has in Gaza since Oct. 7th. 2023.

Starving refugees in Sudan and Ethiopia didn’t hurt anyone. Neither did AIDS patients in Côte d'Ivoire, our own kids getting food through SNAP, or the people who came to this country to work and feed their families. P2025 laid out cutting all of them off, or brutalizing them in camps.

The right thing to do. The moral imperative is to prevent the most possible harm, which electing the rapist pedophile wasn’t going to do. Israel never let up after the “ceasefire” and now the rest of the world suffers, people who have nothing at all to do with the genocide in Gaza.

How do you engage with the political process and influence actual policy if it isn’t by voting for people? It’s a right that people fought and died for and it wasn’t because voting is a pointless exercise.

No, strangely, but the people who used their privilege as men to vote, if they’d only voted for staunch opponents of Women’s Suffrage, would the 19th Amendment have passed?

Harris was necessary because the alternative, as we’ve seen, is actively interfering in elections, after attempting a coup the first time and laying out plans to take control of elections in P2025, and he won’t develop an honor code by 2028, especially if he feels like he’s losing again.

Which I haven’t asked for. I’ve asked people to use the franchise that others literally fought and died for to choose representatives that reflect their beliefs. I never said, “only vote for establishment candidates,” in fact, I’d be so much happier if you wouldn’t.

Black and Brown people have never been safe in this country. No matter where you are, if a cop kills you, he’s going straight back to work. It really is going to take white people being shot down the same way for them to realize that’s how it works when they permit violence in any direction.

Mamdani won with 1,114,184 votes to Cuomo’s 906,614 and Silwa’s 153,749, so not that many more people actually turned out to support him after the primary and he was offering a lot of what people say they want. From there, I extrapolate: voters, by and large, aren’t participating.

Jason @odd-complex.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
You’re free to look up the numbers yourself, they’re public. 1,016,398 people voted in the Dem primaries, around 29.9% of those registered. No extrapolation required.

“If voting worked, why do they tell us to vote for the things we want?” Because that’s how you get them. That’s it. Want something to change? Vote for it! Every time, every election at every level - federal, state and local. Don’t get complacent and never declare full victory. Progress is ongoing.

On average, about 20% vote in primaries, though around 35% vote in the primaries in California and Oregon. Everyone else is below that. So, in 48 of 50 states, less than a third of voters are choosing their candidates. That’s why I say they have poor representation, because they aren’t voting for it

Jason @odd-complex.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
Again, I’m talking about the PRIMARY, not the actual election. Yes, lots of people came out to vote in the election, very few came to vote in the primary, the part where they’re picking their candidate.

Prepare to be told why all those deaths don’t matter in the face of Israel’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank. The deaths of innocents in the camps here are also to be ignored, as are the flights out to third-party countries promising not to send them home.

If voting worked… voting got women the franchise and produced the Civil Rights Era victories of the 60’s, which stood until someone stacked the Supreme Court. Voting got people into office who repealed Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, created the CFPB, capped insulin prices, there’s too much to list!

So, you wanted the president to tear up the separation of powers and just do stuff. If you want a dictator, cool, but I don’t, not even one who’s meant to be on my side because they never are. Apart from that one Roman who gave up being dictator to go back to his farm. One out of all isn‘t good odds
