Speaking as an AI researcher: Google currently lacks the binding, independent governance and oversight I believe developing ASI safely requires. Until that changes, I don’t believe it should race to develop ASI, whether leading or catching up

Vous mentionnez ici un faux négatif, il est effectivement bien documenté qu'on peut avec un peu d'effort les produire assez facilement. Ce n'est pas le cas des faux positifs (fausse détection d'IA dans un texte), dont le taux est infime d'après les études indépendantes. epoch.ai/data-insight...

Tout dépend de ce qu'on appelle "prochain" (5, 10, 15, 20 ans...?) Beaucoup de gens très inquiets et souvent qualifiés de "doomers" pensent que cela arrivera dans les 20 ans, ce qui reste large. Croire qu'il y a moins de 1% de chance que cela arrive dans les 20 ans me paraît "extraordinaire".

Certes, c'est une bonne maxime, le problème est de savoir quelle est "l'affirmation extraordinaire" en l'occurrence. Pour reprendre l'angle de Stuart Russell, l'affirmation : "nous saurons évidemment contrôler parfaitement des systèmes plus intelligents que nous" ma paraît assez "extraordinaire".

think there's some truth to this, but it fails to capture the full picture of what's going on. As an example, in my own life, I have never been drawn to anthropomorphize inanimate objects, but I anthropomorphize language models regularly. Why?
