mooneyed 🌙🗡️

An illustration of a sword anchored by golden chains to a rock in the middle of a shimmering sea. A crescent moon shines above it.

The scene is framed by a border featuring a repeating moon and star pattern.

Further back, a repeating pattern of pink, blue, and purple squares decorates the background. There is a yellow star in the top-left corner and charms in the top-right corner. Pink roses appear in the bottom-left corner, and a bird with a star for an eye is in the bottom-right corner.

here's an excerpt from my SFW fic for @learningtolovezine.bsky.social! "a place at the table" features shouto as a dinner guest at the bakugou home. the whole zine includes so much shouto love: platonic, romantic, mentorship! available for preorder until july 11: learningtolove.bigcartel.com

promotional graphic for the learning to love zine centered on todoroki shouto. the left side includes details about the writer petitefairytale (me!), and where you can find me on social media (obscurecheerios on twitter, petitefairytale on ao3, and here on bsky).

the right side is a quote from the upcoming fic, "a place at the table": Shouto surmised that "the old hag" was Bakugou's mother. He'd have to ask if she'd allow an outsider like him to use the nickname as well. "That's very kind of her. Of course I'll go."

"I wasn't asking!" snipped Bakugou, already dragging Midoriya away.

Despite his friend's apparent annoyance, Shouto was pleased. For the first time, he'd been invited over, with no ulterior motives involving his father. A family dinner sounded like a splendid time.

The two were long gone by the time that Shouto realized his grave misstep. *What is one expected to bring to someone else's family dinner?*

i think more people should write things explicitly with the intent of not explaining them to the majority. i think sometimes readers should have to learn and understand on their own. i think we should write more things for our own people and not the masses.

it's posting day! here's my fic for the #bkdk winter au reverse bang. i had a great time writing an oblivious, pining izuku going on a journey through the snowy mountains with a reluctant kacchan. ✴️❇️ archiveofourown.org/works/76171226

screenshot of ao3 fic summary for "the bluebird & the betrothal" by petitefairytale. summary reads "

When Katsuki sets out into the high mountains to claim the Blue Feather, a coming-of-age trial that doubles as a betrothal gift, Izuku tells himself he needs to bury his feelings for good and let Kacchan go. Then an earthquake hits their village, and Izuku instinctively follows to save Kacchan from the avalanche. His rescue mission turns Katsuki’s solo quest into an uneasy partnership through the snowy terrain."
