I think a lot about how trauma interacts with politics I do think the burn-it-all-down posture is just foreshortened future lensed into a political identity at least, it certainly was for me. I found that feature of my thinking incompatible with imagining a long term political project

The fly brain from aimbug now plays Pac-Man The maze is rendered into the fly eyes and the brain decides where to turn. It uses smell to navigate now too. Eating releases dopamine, and when a ghost appears it spins 180deg. It can actively learn too. It works in the browser pacfly.domi.zip

IMHO this is correct. There were real plans to build a cult of Charlie Kirk, to use him as a centerpiece for an authoritarian movement. And it flopped. The thought leaders of the far right obsessed for years about molding society through memes. It's ironic that joke memes started their downfall.

american culture generally dislikes scolds, and from 2014 onward the right did a good job painting everyone left of mitt romney as a scold through cancel culture/freeze peach on campus. this helped bring bring a bunch of low-trust, not particularly religious young men into the republican coalition
