So, everyone seems to be talking about the fact there's now a ceasefire in the war between the US and Israel and Iran, but look at the terms. The US agreed to lift sanctions, pay reparations, withdraw from military bases, and let Iran entich uranium. That's a stunning defeat by Trump's own metrics.

Being a pascifist doesn't mean hating soldiers. Calling for military spending to be cut doesn't mean cutting salaries or VA benefits. The US military needs to spend MORE money on the VA. Soldiers deserve better care from the government. No one serving in the military should have to rely on charity!

Gavin Newsom would have you believe 170 arrests of US citizens, 5+ murders, and 100+ deaths linked to ICE actions are tragic ACCIDENTS and not domestic terrorism, and that ICE is a necessary institution that should not be abolished. I don't see how a rational person could agree with him on that.

If we're being honest originalists, the framers were against large standing armies. They believed they were a threat to liberty, justice, and democracy. That's in black and white in the Federalist Papers. Here's the key: during the time of the Framers policing was done by the militias of the states.

My partner and I went to Ptown for New Years. It was wonderful and gorgeous and COLD (there was a day with a high of -1°F/-33°C). Here are a couple photos.

I'm against the use of prefixes. They're a relic of the past, an artificial sign of respect, and enforce damaging hierarchies. Mr. (Master) and Mrs. (Mistress) are the least problematic, but their place as the bottom rung of the system isn't great. Niether are the historical connotations.

I was given a message in meeting for worship in November of last year that I sat on and didn't share. It was just three words. "We're not ready." It was not prophetic in the "I can see the future" sort of way, or if it was, that wasn't revealed to me. It was revealing, though.
