Got tired of reading the news and getting mad. Feeding America backs 200+ food banks around the country and I've seeded with $500 for now. I'll match up to another $500 myself. Pass the hat, RTs graciously appreciated, etc.

I know a lot of you have already heard or read about BDS Movement's call against Microsoft, and felt weird and bad about it all, but decided to move forward as normal because of some degree of ambiguity. "What service is Microsoft providing?" Here it is, clear as day. A direct line to death.

According to three Unit 8200 sources, the cloud-based storage platform has facilitated the preparation of deadly airstrikes and has shaped military operations in Gaza and the West Bank.

Thanks to the control it exerts over Palestinian telecommunications infrastructure, Israel has long intercepted phone calls in the occupied territories. But the indiscriminate new system allows intelligence officers to play back the content of cellular calls made by Palestinians, capturing the conversations of a much larger pool of ordinary civilians.

Mel Week: Wildcard - Copy. Mask. is there anything so undoing as a daughter? #arcane #melmedarda #melweek #ambessamedarda #melweek2025

A poem edit featuring Mel Medarda and Ambessa Medarda that’s made up of four panels.

The first screencap is of a shadowed Ambessa looking down at young Mel. The poem begins: “There’s something about having a mother when you’re a girl.”

The second panel is a screencap of a young Mel looking up at her mother with the next line of the poem that reads: “It’s crushing.”

The third panel is after a jump in time, the screencap being from season two of Arcane where Ambessa is looking over her shoulder at Mel in her tent. The poem continues: “Crushing having a mirror that”

The final screencap is Mel and Ambessa with a large amount of room between them in Ambessams tent, with the final piece of the poem reading: “suffers all on its own.”

A message to Mel fans for this #MelWeek2025. Please stay safe and protect yourselves.

Stay safe and don’t be discouraged,

We are aware of the accusations made against Mel fans regarding sending themselves hate via Strawpage. Although we do not believe such thing to be planned, we highly encourage every black fan on Meltwt to close their Strawpages and deactivate guest comments on AO3 during Melweek, as we fear this will be used to send targeted antiblack harassment towards you. This week is meant to uplift both Mel as well as her fans. We want this event to be enjoyed and not overshadowed by antiblack racism. We need to protect each other. So please take care of your mental health and don't make yourself accessible for the wave of racism that might hit us this coming week. We are sorry that this is happening and that it is further fueled by parts of this fandom. To every black fan involved: please stay safe.

With love,
Your MelWeek Team

This was loved on Twitter: There’s something…romantic about how #Meljay aren’t written in the stars. Their love is active—a choice. She chooses to open herself up to him after being exiled. He chooses to be honest with her when at an impasse which would go against the has it all together image.

i think we as meljays need to lean into the inherent yearning and subsequent tragedy that is meljay. yearning for 7 years, only to be torn apart. tragic, star crossed lovers who understood each other better than anyone else ever had.

Twin flames might appear to be different from you, but in reality, their souls are cut from the same cloth, which is why you only have one twin flame. they mirror what you feel for yourself, and in self-recognition through the other, encourages growth in you. challenges you to realize your dreams.

it's finally time to reveal my gift fic for the #OnlyMeljayFanficExchange 😌 to my giftee, the lovely @gentlewolves.bsky.social, I hope you enjoy!! it was a joy working on this ❤️ archiveofourown.org/collections/...

Perihelion by saltyaratakas

Summary: Despite the way he could sense the structured formalities of their dynamic relaxing into something a touch more comfortable and friendly, Jayce felt suspended in a balancing act. He didn’t want to go tumbling backwards, abandoning all that he had unraveled to return to aimlessly waiting for the moments Mel’s path would cross with his, but also he feared falling forward, trampling over a line he wasn’t meant to cross.

--

During a festival for the summer solstice, Jayce and Mel suddenly find themselves in closer proximity to each other that begins to test the lines of their professionalism and sets them in a new orbit.

MOD SPOTLIGHT 🌟✨ Coming up next is our Writing Mod, Gentle @gentlewolves.bsky.social! 💫✨ A connoisseur of literature and everything Mel, Gentle has been a dedicated fan since the first season of Arcane. There's no one we trust more to help guide contributors on getting Mel's tone just right! 💖

MOD SPOTLIGHT

Gentle: Writing Mod

Mod Bio: Student by day, dreamer by night, I am a lover of art in all its forms, but literature especially. One of my greatest joys in life is my cat, closely followed by writing and listening to music. Arcane has captured my heart in a way no other media has, and that is thanks to Mel. While enamored by her design, my love for Mel lies in the nuances of her character, in the gentle cunning, brilliance, and the elegance that she exudes.
What fascinates me most about her is that Mel has such an intimate knowledge of people, and yet hardly knows herself. She chooses compassion each day, a quiet rebellion against the cruelty of her upbringing in Noxus. Despite all she has seen, she never gives up her idealism and risks everything to prove that power doesn't have to be heartless.

Previous experience:
- Fanfiction writer for many years
- CLRD and PR for several manhwa translation groups
- Creator and organizer of the onlymeljay server & events
