Our president @fatimagossgraves.bsky.social was named one of the most powerful women in Washington in @washingtonian.com! We know firsthand that Fatima's dedication to the fight for gender justice is a force to be reckoned with, and it's particularly crucial right now. Congratulations, Fatima!

Cornell is what happens when people like Trump make the rules. His new Title IX regulations make it harder for student survivors to get justice—and easier for perpetrators and institutions to escape accountability.

Everyone deserves access to safe abortion care. But today, nearly half of abortions worldwide are unsafe. This #InternationalSafeAbortionDay, we're raising our voices for a world where everyone can access the reproductive health care they need, when they need it.

Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 15 years in prison today after being found guilty last year of a first-degree criminal sex act. We’re thinking of the bravery of the Silence Breakers—the women who came forward & spoke out on the sexual abuse they experienced at his hands for decades.
“The journey to accountability is long… and even when sexual predators are convicted and sentenced, survivors are left to face the lasting impacts of retraumatizing public trials, destroyed careers, and more. Our country, its leaders and our judicial system must recognize sexual violence for what it is: an epidemic that impacts all of us.”

The latest Project 2025 attack is here and it’s targeting preschoolers. We joined leaders from across the Head Start movement, @murray.senate.gov, @demwomencaucus.bsky.social, and parents to oppose the changes the Trump administration is making to a critical early childhood education program.

Shawn White was a beloved manager at Walmart when he reported his boss for sexual harassment. Disappointed by Walmart's response, Shawn decided to seek justice and hold Walmart accountable, but he didn't know just how much patience & tenacity that would take.

NEW: Our new report looking at household spending between 2004 and 2024 found that lower-income households were spending nearly all of their pre-tax income on basic needs alone—things like food, housing, health care and transportation.

Gloria Steinem did not simply make history. She inspired generations of women to follow their own paths and fight for their right to be in the room. She deeply understood that you need to start by changing culture in order to change policy—and that women will always be the engine behind that change.

Thank you to every single person who picked up a pen, stood at that wall, and turned their vision into a link in the chain. Thank you for trusting us with your hopes, your joy, and your imagination. And thank you for reminding us, in your own words, why this work matters. Some of our favorites 🧵

We’ve never seen anything as joyful as watching hundreds of visions for gender justice bloom into one daisy chain at Daisy Chain Fields. Every petal on this wall was an answer to one question: what does gender justice mean to you? Together, they became something none of us could have written alone.

The SCOTUS ruling on Trump's attacks on mail-in voting have caused confusion—as of now, nothing about voting in this year's election has changed. The Supreme Court's action yesterday was procedural, it was NOT an approval of Trump's plan or a ruling on its legality.

By targeting standards that ensure quality early education—like teacher/child ratios, teacher training, and supports for children with disabilities—the Trump administration is intentionally dismantling a program that has shown lifelong impacts for generations of children and families.

Dr. Evonne Kaho describes her motivation to speak out after surviving workplace sexual assault: "Because someone else—maybe another Black trans woman in a state that doesn’t see her, much less believe her—might come across my words and know that they are not alone. That is worth everything."
Agency is medicine. For a long time, that agency was taken from me, and healing has been the slow, intentional process of taking it back. -Dr. Evonne Kaho, an activist, advocate, and small business owner in jackson, Mississippi, and a survivor of workplace sexual assault

Today is #BlackWomensEqualPay Day, and our message is clear: PAY BLACK WOMEN. Black women working full-time, year-round are paid only 65 cents for every dollar white men are paid & face a wage gap in basically every occupation. That gap costs them more than a million dollars throughout their lives.

These headlines may read like Onion articles, but the real-life impact of Hegseth's "leadership" is that women, trans people, and people of color are being fired, pulled off promotion lists, and losing what little access to reproductive health care they had. He's a threat to every person who serves.

Child care in our country is broken—1 in 3 families spend more on child care than rent, care workers earn poverty-level wages while having their health care & SNAP benefits cut, all while corporations are raising prices on everything from gas to groceries. The system is unaffordable & unsustainable.
day without child care: we demand a universal child care system for every child and family, with thriving wages for early childhood educators, built on racial and gender equity
