SCOTUS struck down the president’s order denying birthright citizenship to children born on U.S. soil, in its ruling in Trump v. Barbara, affirming what the Fourteenth Amendment has long made clear: anyone born on American soil is an American citizen.

George Floyd’s murder sparked a national reckoning over police violence. But national attention alone has not delivered the systemic reform communities deserve. According to the 2025 Police Violence Report, police killings remain near record highs in the years since he was murdered.
