Finally. A major media outlet has finally reported on Trump’s total travel ban for transgender visa applicants seeking the United States. I had to scream for two days to get someone else to report on it. It is NOT just for athletes. www.the-independent.com/news/world/a...

the-independent.com

State Department visa policy could bar trans people from traveling to U.S.

Violations could result in travel bans beyond just athletes

Feeling... rough. Lately.

Panel 1:
"I make art for a living."
Drawing character art on a tablet

Panel 2:
"It feels... Questionable right now."
Drawing interrupted by a news alert

Panel 3:
"So much horror and pain all around us... And it feels like it's getting worse every day."
Cait staring at her tablet while news alerts ping loudly

Panel 1:
"What the hell am I doing."
Cait takes off her glasses and rubs her eyes, the news alerts are louder and more frightening

Panel 2:
"I'm drawing pretty pictures while the world is on fire. While families are torn apart. While war and genocide become daily news. While my country is held hostage by bigots who want me and the people I love to die."
Cait holds her head in her hands, overwhelmed by pinging alerts

Panel 1:
"But I can't think that way. ...not every day, at least..."
Cait balls her fists, grimacing with tears on her face

Panel 2:
"I love what I do. And I work in entertainment - providing beauty and escapism for my audience."
She puts her glasses back on and picks up her tablet pen, sniffling

Panel 1:
"We need art in turbulent times. People need escape from the horrors. And if I can provide that - then I'm being helpful."
Cait starts drawing, but the pinging alerts are on the rise again.

Panel 2:
"I'm being helpful. I'm being helpful... I'm being helpful... I'm helpful... Helpful..."
She draws, trembling, as the alerts swell around her.

With CDC removal of trans data, its important I use my platform to support research in this space. Emory is doing a virtual study on HIV+ trans-fem individuals and working on shaping viral load testing for this population, with some compensation. If it applies to you, here's the link to enroll:

RIP pants(pun not intended) Also heck ya I'll take some cool pics once we make some stuff. Our walk was chilly but no snow. I weirdly thought there would be more snow once we moved to the UK but it hasn't snowed that much at all 🙌🏽

Hey so, you know what else is impacted by freezing federal grants? Libraries. And they have to pass his "social and political ideology" test to get funding again. But sure.
He's not trying to enforce a nationwide ban on books.

Which America? The one that glorifies the soldier for selling their their body but vilifies the SW for doing the same? Which America? The one where the #1 cause of homelessness is medical bankruptcy? Where Crime is a Construct? What Violence? It's all violence.

Every time I read about banning books, I think of this: Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius. If you're afraid that books might change someone's thinking, you're not afraid of books — you're afraid of thinking.
