Wild to me that Boulder's climate suit is at the Supreme Court. Here is an essay of mine right after the massive wildfire in question, and a more recent one about punishment. nathanschneider.info/tag/climate/

The little inference.coop experiment is now a month old, and so far: - A really warm, well-aligned first member meeting - Recovered from a couple hours' of late-night down time - Green, private, and public AI models added - Loomio & Matrix servers for members - Members stepping up to help build!

Then for @ntnsndr.in's panel at #4S on Wednesday, I'll be hosting a short session to critique a co-op protocol/living bylaws demo I 'built'. If you're attending this behemoth of a gathering/confrence, please come!

We are now about half way to the threshold at Inference.coop where I'll have to give up my benevolent dictatorship. Want to join the ethical-ish AI train and help unseat me from power?

That's neat. Do you think it could work for education? I'm looking for secure and responsible tools for class-level agents.

Yeah, definitely running against the limits on OpenWebUI but haven't found a better toolset. We wrapped LiteLLM too. Users just see our key management. Works well so far. Cloudron is the anchor, which isn't fully open, but I have worked with them for years and love the crew.

I am so in awe of what @drkalyncoghill.blacksky.team and the @blackskyweb.xyz team are building with the Acorn project: acorn.blacksky.community Open Social has been slow to building community scale tools, but no longer. This is a whole new level, and they've been using it themselves as they build.

15 years ago today, I was there with my notebook when a few 100 people hunkered down to Occupy Wall Street. A lot happened after, but what I remember best is meeting some of the bravest, most hopeful people in the world. We need more of that today. Here's what I saw: nathanschneider.info/b

🔇 🔇 🔇 My book, Deep Unlearning, is now available for preorders! I don't know how people write so many books because this one took a lot out of me. It turns out, I had a lot to say 😂, with editors cutting out 50k of my words 🫣 ✴️ You can now preorder it at www.simonandschuster.com/books/Deep-U....
Cover of my new book, Deep Unlearning: The Rise of AI and The Radicalization of a Tech Idealist.

There are two concentric circles in the book, the left being circuits in black an white, and the right being a bunch of dots with orange accents. The cover background is cream. And the words are written in black except for "Un" which is in orange.
