I love my partner because I showed her "John Wick - Chapter 4" and at one point her theatre fight director brain kicked in and she said "Where's the blood? Saw a commercial that I auditioned to narrate. When I heard the voice they cast, the temptation is to think "Well *I* could have done that if they just asked!" But the guidance you get is never that specific. Because what's always true is: They don't really know what they want until they hear it.

Yesterday I got the last of my boxes out of the garage and into the house, so that's another milestone in "moving in." Past two weeks have included a lot of hustling for gigs, meeting people, getting to know the area. Can't say I've settled into a rhythm yet but we're making progress. Onward!

Last minor league baseball outing with my California friends for now. Gen. Admission seating for the Long Beach Coast was only $2 on a Tuesday, so I treated seven of my friends and that made me feel like a rich man. They had a real organ player who treated us to "Separate Ways" and "Wrecking Ball."

A friend over coffee yesterday told me "Nobody I know does more (creatively) than you!" And I confessed my internal monologue calls me lazy and unfocused on the daily. Good reminder that you need to see what other people see in you because sometimes that inner voice is messed up on bad chemicals.
