Last Tuesday, the Colorado Springs city council voted 5-4 to dissolve the Old Colorado City Downtown Development Authority. And yet it is, legally, still existing. How? Why? I got to sit down with the DDA's chair, Adam Stepan, to explore what's going on for the future of the westside tax district.

You're driving in the left lane. Someone in front of you is doing the speed limit. You think they should move to the right so you can pass. Is this a correct way of thinking? No, but people believe it anyway. Let's talk about it. youtube.com/shorts/K3v3V...

Microsoft significantly reduced its CO₂ removal (CDR) purchases by 80% in the first half of 2026. Microsoft bought 93% of all CDR credits globally last year. This is absurd, and no way to determine which method might actually work and scale. CDR R&D should be government-funded and government-led.

That puts Microsoft on track for its first retreat since 2023 from a market it entered in 2020.

RIP to the incomparable Sam Neill

How long has it been since you've seen the original "Jurassic Park"?

SAM NEILL The last time I watched it in its totality was sitting beside Princess Di at Leicester Square at the London opening.
On the other side of me was my son Tim - he was 11 and completely swept away by it, but about the time the T-Rex turns up, Tim started to fart. And the draft was drifting across me to royalty! I spent the whole film in a muck sweat, thinking, "Princess Di is being exposed to the horrors of a little boy's fart, but she's going to think it's me. I am going to be subliminally blamed for my son's crimes, and I don't think she'll talk to me afterwards." But she was well brought up and never mentioned it.
JEFF GOLDBLUM I love that story, Sam.
I've heard him tell that a couple of times, and it's just amazing the lengths that he will go to still blame the boy.

THAT is the fight, not whether a million pounds must be heated and molted, printed and then shipped each time a new AAA game come down the pipe.

No, the problem is preserving our legal rights to these games, for Stop Killing Games, for server switch-offs to not kill the digital purchases we've made, to not have the digital things we've bought disappear from our libraries.

Nick Raven @nthelegend.bsky.social · 02/07/2026

The problem with those hollering about the end of physical media is that they're fighting the wrong fight. Digital gaming was inevitable. People claiming second-hand trading and sharing is still rampant like it was in 1995 are living in a world where Gamestops are closing fast.

I'm 42. I had my era of "shelf full of games where if I want to play a specific game, I have to retrieve that physical case, pop it open, bend the disc out slightly to retrieve it, place it in a tray or slot drive and then store the case." It's a pain in the ass.
