iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Could you imagine the confusion and chaos created if The Internet just... stopped? Globally? In some ways it would be delightfully healing. But the (un)predicable aggression would be horrific & terrifying. Now that I consider it, I think doomsday prepping for this scenario isn't unreasonable...

Bob's Burgers is huge in our house. But season 1 is a bit more M rated than the subsequent seasons. The things I've had to explain.. 😳 #tvshows

It's Friday. The weather is glorious and I'm gonna do my chores but only after some solo-time/self care. Cafe breakfast. Now a face mask. And finish a movie while sewing. Then I'll clean the shower, do my podiatry exercises, laundry, call my parents and work on my son's Halloween costume. #life

Judith Lucy is only a few years older than me. I've always been a fan since I first saw her on The Big Gig in the late 80s. Watching her share her experiences and reactions to her cancer diagnosis & treatment feels quite personal for me. Sincerely wish her all the best with everything.

I was given a reminder today that I'm lucky I'm in a physically safe relationship. However emotional relationships are fragile, evolving and never guaranteed.

US Midterms is on the 3rd Nov. Same as Melbourne Cup Day. I have zero interest in horse racing so I'll be keeping a low-key eye on the Midterms. I don't bet on the races, rarely drink & find "The Race" an over commercialized non-event. The Midterms impacts *gestures wildly* EVERYTHING.

Oct and Nov calendars are starting to look very chaotic. Trying to stay on top of it all but can't help but worry that I'm gonna forget something. This time of year sucks!

The response to my post of my son's first cross stitch is incredibly heartwarming. I've been sharing all the comments with him and showing all the ❤️'s. The internet can be a very dark place but today it has helped me encourage my boy and that is perfect ❤️ My thanks to all involved. #positive

My son's first cross stitch 🪡❤️ 11 years old

Photo of a cross stitched heart mounted in a small hoop. The heart has horizontal stripes of colours across. And a small date is included. The colours are pink, purple, aqua and green.

That satisfying feeling when you manage to make an argument where the other person pauses and says "well, yes, you have a point". A win!

I've had a lot of reels on FB appear for the same product - but each clip had a different product name - all supposedly at Costco, all with a woman dropping her iced coffee in shocked delight, & all done with AI. The scam is real. Question everything. May some higher entity help the unprepared.

I wonder who'll play Paul Hogan in the biopic of his life. There's a movie there, about a young comedian gaining local then international fame through the 70s and 80s. Personally I would prefer an old school, 80s style, mini series that spans 3 nights, with a whos-who of Aussie actors. #movie

I don't want to know about Aussie sporting heroes. Sung & unsung. I'm over it. I want to know about Aussie community heroes. From small towns, suburbs & cities. Who do small gestures to big projects & rub elbows with everyone, at any level. Let's celebrate our community volunteers.

My son occasionally talks in his sleep. He has been known to sleep walk maybe once or twice. Tonight he's done both. No distress or discomfort other than wanting a parent nearby. So it looks like I'll stay until he is settled.

So something has gone horribly wrong. Old yeast, poor flour quality. I don't know for sure but I've been left with a dense, underdone loaf that isn't really worth it. The taste is there but that is all. It isn't particularly good. What a disappointing start to the day. #bread

A failed loaf of bread. Flat. With no colour on top. Cooling on a baking rack.

3 slices of a failed loaf of bread. Dense and not particularly attractive.

Bless the pantry gods! Fresh white bread we shall have in the morn! White and warm and ready for butter and my utter devotion. Carbs be my guide! #bread

Photo of my bread maker, showing that in 7 hours I'll have a medium loaf with a medium dark crust.

It's 10:30pm and I've got a real NEED to pull out my breadmaker and set her up so I have a stunning loaf by 6am tomorrow.... Let's see if the pantry gods will permit this prayer... #craving #bread

Woke up with dodgy bowels, digestive pains and exhaustion. I must've eaten something borderline... Rested in bed for most of the morning. Feeling better now but not 100%. Stuff still needs doing so I'm doing what I can. Luckily my partner was WFH today.

I'm reading articles about phone apps that identify if there are meta glasses (pervert specs) in your vicinity. I'm treating it a little cautiously. Seems like a great idea but also like scammy bait. Factor in the cost of some and I'm like.. yeah, nah. If something seems too good to be true...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democra.... #USpol #USA In Australia we can eat and drink whilst in line on election day. In fact because our elections are compulsory and held on a Saturday, School halls are used as polling Stations. Schools fundraise by selling food and drink. We celebrate our Democracy.

IMO, 1 thing that ages a person, that can shut a person out of a conversation, is progressive language development. As society evolves, esp with the development & influence of tech, communication styles are rapidly shutting older gen out of conversations. It's not surprising. It's disappointing.

For dinner tonight I pulled out a container of rice with some sort of shredded chicken-in-sauce concoction. I remember why we froze it. It's not bad.. just not good. Made it palatable by adding a ton of herbs. It was disappointing....

#ForgottenIsland is fantastic. Should not be in cinemas & better suited to a streaming service. Animation is brilliant. Script is very fast paced. Has a lot of humour (juvenile but not unnecessarily ridiculous). Music is modern & cool. Story is well done. All involved should be proud. #movies

I recently bought a small CD player off Temu to take camping with us. I have dug out my old burnt CDs with songs from around 2009 (-/+ 3-4 yrs).. Some song choices are *chef's kiss*. Others are "No. What was I thinking?!". 'Tis an interesting snapshot I feel part pride, part apologetic. #music

I've misplaced one of my #crosstitch projects. Over half done and I have no idea where I've put it. Seriously mystified and annoyed. The pattern is 30+yrs old. I wanna say that it'll turn up but I've been searching and can't think of anywhere else to look.

Decades ago I would share the odd joint with trusted friends. I just realised we've all either grown apart &/or stopped smoking so I have zero clue on who I can get a joint from. I don't need one. But it makes me, not sad, not nostalgic but something similar. Loved those conversations.
