One thing that is conspicuously absent from @hawkkoh.bsky.social’s website is his platform. There are plenty of clips of his cable news appearances. But aside from promising to “fight Trump & lower costs” we know nothing about his policies & priorities. This is a major red flag. #MApoli #MA-06

I didn’t realize that we dole out $300 billion worth of aid to countries we are on equal footing with. Really, @nytimes.com?!? www.cfr.org/articles/us-...

If your city is being run by people who think the answer to this question is yes, it’s time for new leaders.
Screenshot of text that reads:

“Do we fundamentally trust what ICE, the Border Patrol, the federal government are doing with information about each of us in the community?” said John Grossman, who oversaw the state system for accessing federal crime databases under Gov. Deval Patrick.

Thiel no longer has any ties with PayPal. He sold the company and all of his shares in 2002: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_T...
Screen of Thiel’s Wikipedia page that reads,
“PayPal went public on 15 February 2002 and was bought by eBay for $1.5 billion in October of that year.[53] Thiel remained CEO of the company until the sale.[9] His 3.7% stake in the company was worth $55 million at the time of acquisition.[54]

A government that understands that empathy makes us stronger, resilience makes us safer, and care for our neighbors makes us American. Because we cannot *be* great, unless we first are willing to *do* good.” See screenshot for full excerpt.
Screenshot of text that reads:

We’re not shying away from our responsibility to be a more just and more equitable community.
Injustice, as Sarah Parker Remond once observed, becomes “engraved on our hearts.” Our duty, especially those of us in public service, must be to constantly ask how our decisions can undo – not
further – injustice; how we can give our community hope – not fear.

Across America there may not be a place more familiar than Salem with what happens when fear is what centers us. Today, that unique history directly informs our values and calls us to be a better place - a place where we welcome all, including, for 400 years, generations of newcomers hoping to add their own chapter to the American story. To be a place where neighbor once turned on neighbor, we now
turn toward our neighbor -- and we lift them up. A place that has learned from its past and lives up to its name, as the City of Peace.

With a federal government abandoning their commitment to those values, here in Salem our constituents rightly demand and deserve a local government centered on compassion, not cruelty. On community – not chaos. And on competence – not vengeance. A government that understands that
empathy makes us stronger, resilience makes us safer, and care for our neighbors makes us American. Because we cannot be great, unless we first are willing to do good.”

Screenshot of text from Politico’s “Massachusetts Playbook that reads:
Markey’s campaign rolled out the updated map this morning, along with statements of support from local elected officials from across the state — including the mayor of Rep. Seth Moulton’s hometown.

Markey’s “relationship with Salem has been defined by presence, partnership, and follow-through. When our community faced challenges, he helped connect us to federal resources and ensured those opportunities turned into real progress,” Salem Mayor Dominick Pangallo said. “He understands that local communities are the heart of our democracy—and he never forgets that.””

Write your state rep NOW and urge them to vote no to H.3469 (malegislature.gov/Bills/194/H3...). Attached is what I wrote my rep based on recommended language from @act-on-mass.bsky.social.
Screenshot of text that reads:

Dear Representative Cruz,

I’m writing to urge you to vote no on H.3469. Turning the 2030 greenhouse gas targets into non-binding goals removes accountability from the state’s climate commitments. Cutting Mass-Save funding will raise long-term energy costs for households.

These changes would move Massachusetts backward at a time when we should be leading on climate initiatives.

Please oppose this bill and protect the enforceability of 2030’s greenhouse gas targets.

Thank you,

I deleted my original comment because I was wrong. This is in reference to bill H.3469 (malegislature.gov/Bills/194/H3...) which was voted out of committee today. Write your Rep ASAP about this. Here’s what I wrote (based on suggested language from @act-on-mass.bsky.social.

Here’s what I just wrote @warren.senate.gov and @markey.senate.gov. Feel free to use this language & write them TONIGHT. Chuck Schumer must be deposed as Minority Leader.
Screenshot of text that reads:

“It is absolutely disgraceful that Democrats caved tonight without any additional funding for ACA subsidies. If Republicans were unwilling to negotiate while Democrats had leverage, there is no way they will negotiate in good faith now.

Chuck Schumer demonstrated in March and again tonight that he is unfit to lead a strategic and firm opposition to Trump’s cruel agenda.

He must be replaced as Minority Leader. I strongly support Chris Murphy to replace him.”

For folks boycotting Spotify, be sure to: 1. Delete your account entirely so their unpaid subscriber count also goes down. 2. Leave a negative review in the App Store. Here’s what I left. 3. If you are on LinkedIn leave a negative comment on the CEO’s page. www.linkedin.com/in/daniel-ek...
Screenshot of a 1 star review for Spotify in the AppStore. It reads:
Title: Spotify supports fascism and domestic terrorism
Review: I am revolted that Spotify is airing recruitment ads for DHS/ICE. This agency is terrorizing our communities and kidnapping our neighbors. Hard pass. I switched to Tidal and the sound quality was noticeably better without any ads promoting fascism. I recommend that platform instead.

Seriously. Only one person has done this and the dude gets way too much sunshine blown up his arse.
Screenshot of text that reads, “I became a subscriber when you first offered paid accounts. I just cancelled my Duo Premium account because you are running advertisements for DHS/ICE on Spotify. Shame on you for profiting from Trump’s secret police that is committing human rights violations and terrifying our communities. I hope that you will cease running these ads and donate any money you’ve made from them to the ACLU, the National Immigration Law Center or United We Dream. Stop enabling fascism in this country.”

Bonus action: leave a comment on the Founder/CEO’s LinkedIn page. So far only one person has done this in a sea of sycophantic replies to his posts. www.linkedin.com/in/daniel-ek...

From today’s @politico.com #MassachusettsPlaybook. No lies detected here from @edmarkey.bsky.social’s campaign.
Screenshot of text that reads:

“GOOD THURSDAY MORNING, MASSACHUSETTS. Most of the campaign messaging from Seante candidates came via texted and emailed fundraising appeals.

Markey’s campaign, in a fundraising email Wednesday described Moulton as a “challenger with a record of walking back on progressive values to appease the extremists in the Republican party.” And Moulton’s campaign warned in text that “at a critical moment for our nation and our democracy” it’s time for “a new generation of leaders in Washington” who will stand up to Trump.”
