Sometimes it seems like people think no one on the west end bikes. But despite the at times hostile lack of infrastructure, people are biking and scooting. Out of choice and and out of necessity.

Two bikes locked up early on a Saturday morning outside LA Mart, a critical supermarket for the community, located at the impossibly unsafe to bike intersection of Edsall and Van Dorn.

Morning ACHS school run- 25 minutes round trip. 1 kid at Minnie- 1 kid at her job. We saw 5 students biking or scootering. In a bike lane when there was one. On the sidewalk when there wasn’t. #streetsareforpeople

We have two cars. We like our cars. If I go into the core of the city, most of the time I take the Metro. If we’re doing stuff nearby we try to walk or take the bus. I love transit. I think urban and suburban places should have massive investments in transit. I’m not anti car, I’m pro transit.
