Police Chief on Automated License Plate Readers — “Police Chief Tarrick McGuire told residents Thursday night that the research does not establish that automatic license plate readers reduce crime, and that the case for them rests on something narrower: they help investigators develop leads.”

We did it. This game is getting fun: We the Dwarves are going aggro against the forces of Sauron. Watch us with your evil eye in the sky will you? Dwarves do not consent to be watched. We want to be left alone to dig for gold but nooo now we gotta fight the orcs. Sauron keeps spying on us.

Guess the author and what its about - "No, you're wrong there — the bank is something else than men. It happens that every man in a bank hates what the bank does, and yet the bank does it. The bank is something more than men, I tell you. It's the monster. Men made it, but they can't control it.

In thinking about recent city council stuff: - First and foremost, they are our neighbors. - Not "the government"; not a masked thug Within Alx, I think many are upset with government and redirect to the accessible level. I'm not saying "be civil", instead asking: What would Fred Rogers do?

Becky and Jesse get it (unsurprisingly) right. The question should not be "which mass surveilance system will we pay for in order to share our location data with ICE and stalkers thru a sidedoor that we can't control?", but instead: How do we stop mass surveillance and prevent it in the future?

The boy can leave Oklahoma .... for 20 years.... and still sound like he's from there. It's a buggy. And a gumband. And yinz. But nah: It's a cart. A rubber band. And ya'll. Ya'll got that?

A map of the lower 48 US states showing a heat map of where my accent places me. Because accent is determined when we are children, Oklahoma shines brightest. Because I have lived outside there for many years, Virginia is visible - if only just.

Basically I talk like an Okie - which makes sense as I left due to economic hardship and found a new life where there is water.

Oklahoma is a dry-ass dust bowl and everyone should leave. I keep trying to help my friends and family, to limited success.
