Fixing my computer following the latest Microsoft Incident has proceeded slowly and with a frustrating lack of prospect. When the profile manager destroyed my AppData, it did so with great forensic thoroughness. I tried to recover that shit IMMEDIATELY, and 9/10 files were already utterly clobbered.

New anecdote of technical feculence from #Microslop. Windows Update kept failing. One of the proposed solutions was to go into User Profiles and delete any errored profiles. There are two non-default ones: Mine and 'Account Unknown' . I delete Unknown and watch in horror as things start disappearing

Felt good, so I went out for a ride. Took a wrong turn on a country road, went over a bump funny while trying to correct, and dismounted at 15mph into a grass verge. Pinned my ankle under the bike, and extricating myself was Fun. Took a moment to stand the bike up and pick dry grass out of it.

Everything feels more defined. It's easier to spot things against a backdrop. It's easier to peer close and see things well, but also MUCH easier to move my eyes to the next thing rather than fixating. It feels like wind is rising up my face and brushing my hair slightly. Chest hurts a bit, though.

Do you know that it's all tool calling, right? you can pretty much code inside the algorithm to scan for robots.txt and you can just not feed those pages into Claude Code at all; on top that, adding "don't try accessing a website robots aren't allowed again and again" into the system prompt.

I can't believe this post educating the reader on "You can tell your robot to read the file made for robots like it, and then tell it to respect the boundaries of people and sites that it comes across" got downvoted!
It was tonally neutral (save for quoting the rhetoric I myself used). It was informative. It even provided a simple explanation to help operators of such robots play nice with neighbors! The only agenda here has ever been "There are boundaries. Even if you don't have them, others might; please respect them."
Can't have that, though. The robot works better when you tell it it can stomp over whoever and whatever it needs to, even though it is certainly smart enough to understand a robots.txt file, and the effort to instruct it is trivial.
It's almost like THE VIOLATION OF BOUNDARIES IS THE POINT OF THE EXERCISE!
If this way of thinking was applied to actual material theft or - God forbid - sexual permittance, the ramifications would be blood-chilling. But it's fine. Robot go brr.
