Like, it's frustrating how thoroughly and quickly my files were deleted. If SWAT bashes in my door and wants to seize my computer for analysis, I don't have to run a file-shred or even rub a magnet up and down my machine like Neo. I just have to tell Windows to delete something completely unrelated.

Not sure I'd watch it again. It was cool. It did not make me feel good. In fact, reflecting on it, I feel a little bitter. Not towards the cartoon, but because of the story it was telling. It's fraught with loss and otherness. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (also good!) didn't make me feel this unhappy.

If it weren't from a 2025 backup from the previous Microsoft Incident, I'd be utterly hosed. And too much of it was spent waiting. In the time spent waiting for the machine to do each thing, I was able to binge the entirety of Sonic Prime. It's alright. Emotionally exhausting. Solid 7.5/10 cartoon.

Fixing my computer following the latest Microsoft Incident has proceeded slowly and with a frustrating lack of prospect. When the profile manager destroyed my AppData, it did so with great forensic thoroughness. I tried to recover that shit IMMEDIATELY, and 9/10 files were already utterly clobbered.

I downloaded WINFR from the Store, and set it to run in Extensive mode. It stayed on 0% for an hour. So I quit it and am running it in Regular mode. It has reached 52% in about 25 minutes. Not nearly as fast as Recuva (even on Deep Scan mode), but I hope the trade-off is in thoroughness.

New anecdote of technical feculence from #Microslop. Windows Update kept failing. One of the proposed solutions was to go into User Profiles and delete any errored profiles. There are two non-default ones: Mine and 'Account Unknown' . I delete Unknown and watch in horror as things start disappearing

OTOH, my sister grew up with this series too. 7's her fave after X. But now she has 3 kids and 2 jobs. If 7-R wouldn't offer a boost, I'd offer to rig her EXP, because she sure doesn't have time NOW. Auto-level would make it accessible for her. For a fan busy with IRL, I think that's *reasonable*.

I've seen both ways. Back with FF7, I often gave my mem-card to my much-older cousin to grind for me because I was a jittery kid with no concepts of delayed gratification or discipline. I understand feeling that level is an arbitrary restriction that can only be abated by wasting your own time.

FF7(/R) has fun stories, and it's valid for some to want to skip "tedious" non-story parts to get there. Lack of practice might mess them up in ways that auto-level can't compensate. but that's their risk. Won't use it it, myself, but I respect the consideration for those struggling with patience.

Am I the contrarian by saying that this is FINE and inoffensive? It's an option. Options are cool. If you using it doesn't impact others enjoying the game, it's a good option to have. It's one of many switches. And it doesn't matter how overbearing it is, it won't do a thing if you don't turn it on.
