This Phillies at Atlanta booth is AWFUL.

For a brief moment in history, it looked like Michael Conforto was going to be better than Kyle Schwarber.

The second one is so bad that it obscures how bad the fifth one is.

The White House isn't having AI proofread for these type of typos?

The market for Carson Benge red rookie redemption cards (worth $100 in Fanatics FanCash if he wins ROY) has shot up to about $10 on eBay, with three (!) selling for $40+ in a 19+ bid auction just yesterday. Sal Stewart remains over $50 for his, McLean is going for five bucks or less.

I've watched this 100 times before tonight, and for the first time I noticed that the acid doesn't seem to harm the trailer.

My nearly two-week quest to get autographed cards of random minor Mets for under $4 each has so far yielded: Jeff McNeil (who isn't so minor) Jordany Valdespin Kevin Plawecki Ryan Clifford (may he not be minor) Colin Houck (same, but come on)

This is the right way to handle Howie's bon voyage, given the weather and how awful this season has been.

Any chance at Junior Caminero winning the AL MVP or does Yordan have it locked up?

Mets closer blows a save and the Mets stadium cheers, and is 100% right to do so. Baseball is a great game.

I see the (awesome) NYT dialect quiz is making the rounds again. One of the best things on the internet.

Keith Hernandez just called Nick Morabito's three-run double "the ballbreaker" and Gary Cohen could barely contain himself.

In 2018, there was a not-so-minor kerfuffle when Paul Ryan accidentally implied that the real value of the Trump Tax Plan was to make Costco memberships more affordable, so at least they're being consistent.

Brooks Raley was a Met from 2023 until the August 2026 trade deadline. He was hurt for most of 2024 and 2025 (Tommy John). Mets records: 2023-2024 (pre-injury) -- 86-95 2024-2025 (out) -- 133-109 (NLCS appearance) 2025-2026 trade deadline (return) -- 73-99 (collapse) Since trade deadline: 11-4

In two innings, the Mets have recorded *four* outs at the plate.

I must be getting old because I've watched three movies over the last couple of weeks that everyone says were bad at best, and all three were perfectly fine.

The GOP is cooked in NYS. Data centers are very unpopular given how expensive household energy is. Hochul's EO is a moratorium designed to get through the election -- which is an opportunity for Blakeman. Tie the moratorium to energy prices, not the calendar. But nope, the GOP can't do that.

One of the underappreciated parts of politics is how much of an impact the structure of elections has on governance. Adopt another nation's structure and the US government would look dramatically different.

The Mets are about to go on a massive bender and finish at 79-83.

Everything you need to know about the Mets trade deadline: They traded away seven players. And yet, they're not an appreciably worse team right now than they were a month ago.

000

i hope the mets drop the all lower-case design package, i thought it would grow on me but it hasn't

050

Gotta be happy with the Mets deadline moves. Got good return on the guys you expected to be traded. Didn't sell off Alvy, Torrens, or (not that I was all that worried) Lindor. Doubt there was any market for Senga, Baty, Polanco (lol), Vientos (lool), or Robert Jr.

220

As bad as the Mets have been this year, the non-Williams bullpen had talent and depth. Raley, Minter, Brazoban, Weaver -- all traded for good returns.

000

Marcus Semien: 3.2 bWAR to -0.7 Bo Bichette: 3.4 to 0.1 Jorge Polanco: 2.5 to -1.2 Luis Robert: 1.4 to 0.0 Freddy Peralta: 5.5 to -1.2 (!!) Tobias Myers: 0.6 to -0.8 That's 16.6 bWAR to -3.8. A swing of 20.4. What a terrible team.

where are the baseball trades

I could throw this 1,000 times and never get it remotely close to the strike zone. I doubt I could get it to go the full 60'6".
