I realized that Shinx Maffi would probably be Electric+Ground type because immunity from electricity makes sense for rubber, as does resistance from poison. Would be interesting to have a typing that's only used by one official Pokémon (Sandy Shocks).

I noticed my Forgejo instance has been getting totally hammered by what are obviously scraper bots, and CPU usage had been spiking to 10% or worse a few times a minute, but I think I managed to reduce the load a lot by blocking the ability to access random commits from users that don't have a cookie

Being asked to decorate a well-renown princess' private patio is a big task to most, I'm sure! Luckily, Lumina knows some great, natural, plant-safe plastics (made with magic, of course) and non-toxic glowing materials... And glowing stars always feel classic, don't they?

A digital illustration. It is set in a night-time setting. There are dim hallways of a palace in the very background. There are many strings of golden beads strung all over, like christmas lights. Hanging from the deepest dips of these strings are cyan plastic stars filled with some kind of cornflower-blue glowstick-like fluid inside.

There is a porcelain, well-worn, half-moon curved bench in the center of a large, U-shaped hedge. The hedge is very well-trimmed.

There is a "My Little Pony" (Friendship Is Magic) style character standing on her hind legs, one of her hind hooves lifted up on one of the little stepways to the porcelain bench. Her front hooves are both raised in front of her; one atop the aforementioned bench supporting herself, and one finishing placing the final plastic star.

She appears to be a mix of a goat and a deer. She has two small two-pronged antlers on her head above her multi-colored mane. They almost seem to be filled with orange glowstick fluid. Her main fur is a soft black, and she has groups of three white freckles on her nose and her back, meant to imitate the white-spot markings you typically see on deer fawns (babies). She has two pigtails in her mane and is wearing two red ribbons to tie them off. She has a cutie mark that is three glowsticks (one purple, one red, one yellow). She is smiling. She has red eyes. Her mane and tail are the same colors: white base with some purple streaks. The very bottoms of them have changed colors: from white to pastel yellow, and from purple to pastel orange. The scene uses a lot of green and blue to contrast against the warmer character's colors.

I reference the Game Boy Color version of Petal Crash when I work on finishing up the mechanics in the Super Game Boy version, and I keep forgetting that I can simplify the code a lot because the SNES has a nicer processor to work with. Pointer math to get adjacent tiles turns into "lda Board+8,y"

I was vaguely interested in the Steam Frame since I previously tried Gear VR and was curious about potentially having a good cheaper non-Meta option, but the price is far above what I'd pay for something I'm not sold on yet and where I haven't seen any games yet that look especially compelling.

Development goal for this month is to try and get the Super Game Boy mode in the Petal Crash port to a point where you can have a fully functional Tug-of-War or Trash Attack versus match. That means implementing garbage, checking for a lose condition, and some sort of minimal menu to start a match.

Got a Nintendo Mini Classics remake of the Super Mario Bros Game & Watch game (since I can't find the one I originally had), and opened it up to find text on the board that said "CMOS: STK55C324-552", and the data sheet makes it obvious that it's a 6502. I played through Pajama Sam 3 today to show it to someone else, and I just realized that the premise is very Deltarune. Blue kid goes into a dark part of their house and ends up in a themed fantasy world inhabited by anthropomorphized objects and concepts.

I got my Game Bub yesterday and it's really sleek and cool and the buttons feel nice. I haven't spent a ton of time with the controls since I played docked yesterday, but it does pass my "feels good to play Puzzle League" d-pad test.

Should finally get my Game Bub on Friday. Excited to have an open source, dockable GBA with a backlit screen and a 14 hour battery life. Probably only a matter of time until I can play SNES games on it once everyone gets theirs, since I saw a proof of concept on an older version of the hardware.

In my quest for active chats and seeing what's out there, I have been checking out the IRC network list in HexChat and seeing what even still exists and what state things are in now. Libera.chat is really strong and has interesting active channels, and people do still talk at FurNet and AnthroChat.
