Another update: I’m back home, the fire is under control… let’s say that there isn’t much left to burn anyway. 90% of the forest has burned (55% of the town surface). The sights are apocalyptic and ugly but nature always finds a way to grow and change. What’s most enraging is that it was criminal…

Small update: It’s still burning and barely containable but my family were escorted out of town by the firefighters, so we are together now. Only one of my sisters remains there but she’s safe. I hope she’ll evacuate as soon as possible. Hopefully it will get better soon…

My town is burning… All of my family is there (except my mom) and it’s impossible to get in or out. There’s no service so I have no news. The last thing I know the flames were behind my grandparents house. My sisters are probably TERRIFIED too. I AM FUCKING TERRIFIED.

After 8 days the fire is finally (and will hopefully stay) under control 🥹 I’m still a bit emotional of how the community came together to overcome this challenge. I am so grateful to the thousands firefighters that came to help (and the army too at some point) ! I am home and safe ❤️

The fire is still going. The rain yesterday didn’t help at all (only 2mm), and the wind is blowing towards us. I’m waiting to be evacuated because of the fumes. I’ll keep you updated ! Thank you for all your messages 🫶🏻

The fire is still here… closer even. It’s 10pm so no planes before 6am tomorrow and I see flames EVERYWHERE (like surrounding the town…). But I’m still safe. On lockdown but safe. My bags are packed if I need to evacuate tonight. I’ll sleep in a few days I guess
