Starfield, the game where you fly your intergalactic spaceship from one part of a planet to another because text messages don’t exist “Hey I got the bad guys” “Cool now pop their ships in orbit” Why did I have to come back so you could tell me to fly away again in person

Best picture I could get and it’s still really bad but this was one of my little visitors last night
Possum creeping through the yard

Photo quality: bad. Taken through a screen and zoomed in

The internet told us it was cool to mock pedants and look where we are now You need us pointing out your spelling errors and your specious reasoning or the world collapses into anarchy—and not the fun kind “Humongus” balls, indeed

Sitting on my porch is like watching a nature documentary Random deer wandering through the yard, possums, armadillos, squirrels, all the bugs you could ever ask for, various and sundry birds (even turkeys!), bats, the occasional coyote (or possibly fox, can’t tell, too dark)

On the one hand people have to look like something but on the other having a movie producer tell you that they stole your face for a movie, here have this drawing of it that I made and signed and btw I’m not paying you, kinda seems like a slam dunk of a case

99.99% of the time the word you’re looking for is “averse,” not “adverse.” And for that other .01% you’re probably a technical writer writing some kind of technical document E.g.: I am *averse* to people saying “adverse” when they mean “averse” Different words, different meanings

Jurassic World: Dominion is like five different movies all crammed together like the voltron lions into a giganotosaurus of a movie which is a great value if you think about it, why watch one movie when you could be watching five at once

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom First impression: this was a really good Resident Evil adaptation It’s like they wanted a sequel to JW and they had a spec script for RE that someone sent in and they weren’t gonna use so they swapped out the zombies for dinosaurs and scribbled in the island scenes

Rewatching Jurassic World The thesis of this movie is that this movie has a thesis, and if you don’t like it that’s okay because it has another thesis, and another, and another! It’s like they say about the weather in [your state]: if you don’t like it just wait five minutes and it’ll change

A class at my kids’ school put up little statements about the good they want to do in the world and I was over the moon about this one - then I learned they meant to say “teach people in jail” which is also good!

Gerrymandering can be difficult to understand, but this graphic helps illustrate how it can be used to pervert the intentions of voters. Say Team Blue wins 60%. Depending on who’s drawing the map, that could mean winning all 5 seats or winning only 2 of 5.

People forget how irrational we can be. For instance, I wouldn’t buy a beast bar if I was starving because fuck that guy, I have principles. Rational? No. But we have entire very lucrative industries built around exploiting our innate irrationality.

How do humanists find meaning in life? Humanists believe that life's meaning is not given to us, but that human beings can create meaning and happiness themselves. Humanists find purpose in relationships, creativity, helping others, and making a positive impact on the world around us. Each person's path is different. Humanists support everyone#s right to think for themselves and shape their own life.
