I said I liked it, I didn't say it was good. In the surprisingly broad and deep "80s children's property turned into fever dream feature" genre, it's hard to beat this. It has a giant diamond AND a rocket horse! Both!

If you see this, recommend a short book: A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. LeGuin. More worldbuilding and character in 164 pages than JKR could manage in 1600, to say nothing of its unabashed inclusivity.

If you're still on the hunt, I offer up Jessamine (drawn here by @dragonmirri.bsky.social) a recently turned lycanthrope on her way to becoming the Werewolf Queen.

A five‑panel sequence showing a blond, fair-skinned human woman turning into a werewolf in five stages. She begins standing calmly in a green shirt and gray pants. She tenses up, clutching her arms as the change begins. Her face stretches into a muzzle, ears sharpen, and fur appears as clothes tear and her blond hair begins fading to brown. Her human hair is subsumed into fur, as her claws and tail grow, her clothing shredded. She winds up as a fully anthropomorphic brown-furred werewolf, standing upright with a hesitant posture.

A faux‑vintage poster with the text “Build ’em big with Giraffin Syrup. Sick of being small? Giraffin Syrup turns your extra eating and extra drinking into extra growth!” A speech bubble from a cartoon giraffe on the Giraffin box adds “Goodness growious! Watch her eat, watch her grow!” The ad shows shows four cartoon panels of a young woman transforming into an anthropomorphic giraffe after drinking Giraffin. She keeps the same blue jacket, maroon shirt, and black shorts as her ears and ossicles grow, spoted fur spreads, her face elongates, and her neck and limbs grow long, with visible shock and cramping in mid-change, leaving her quite bewildered as a giraffe. Fine print at the bottom reads “Use only as directed. Giraffin LLC GMBH is a registered trademark of Genecom. Not responsible for any clothesplosions, giraffomorphosis, okapiamago, or pronghornification. Humanin Syrup is available to reverse unwanted effects at 200% markup. A faux‑vintage poster reading “HAVE A MAGICAL JUNICORN — BRING BIG MANE CHARACTER ENERGY” and showing a cute young woman transforming into a unicorn in 5 stages. In the first stage she is fully human, smiling and holding a unicorn plushie. In the next stages, a horn sprouts from her forehead, her hands harden and reshape into cloven hooves, a long pastel tail splits her pants, and her outfit is torn apart as her body and posture becomes more equine. The final panel shows her as a full unicorn with a dark mane, white fur, expressive eyes, and a playful stance. The background is a sunny yellow landscape under a blue sky. A faux vintage pulp horror style comic book cover for “May’s Awakening,” featuring the four‑stage transformation of a young woman into a towering werewolf. Starting as a fully human young woman with long dark hair wearing a gray sweater and a pink skirt with leggings and sandals, she looks at her changing hand saying “W‑what? Things are getting hairy!”. In the next stage, in the middle left, she looks pained, gritting her teeth as the transformation begins, with patches of fur spread across her limbs, her ears sharpening, and her clothes tearing. In the middle right, she has become muscular, hunched, with elongated limbs, a muzzle forming, and a pained grimace as she instinctiely tears away her clothes. In the final stage in the upper center, she is a full werewolf: tall, broad‑shouldered, heavily muscled, covered in dark fur, clutching the torn remains of her top and standing in a dramatic pose against a backdrop of a large stylized moon and jagged mountain silhouettes while shouting “I will sever the bloodline of whoever did this to me!” At the bottom right corner, a tagline in a boxed caption reads: “They made her a monster. She’ll make them regret it.”
