I'm very please to announce a public release of my drag-and-drop bookmarking, game-making, and wandering tool Scrubjay! Scrubjay is a weird website builder that lets you cobble together web elements, images, links, text fragments, etc into a series of nested rooms...

"SCRUBJAY" sits over a bunch of images of frogs, birds, doors. it's a very 90s look

every few days I wonder why I keep this account going, but hey, here's some garden pics. it's taken three years to figure out how to grow well in this miserable intense heat hell hole, but I'm finally getting enough veggies that it is actively impacting my grocery budget in a positive way. woo.

Three small eggplants, a cross between black beauty and the long skinny asian eggplants. And 7 stalks of white chard. All harvested from a raised bed garden.

A grey metal raised bed, with a large net structure surrounding it. The netting has been opened to the side on the left and right like a stage play curtain. There are two different eggplant varieties, three tomatoes, and four shishito plants alongside some chard, some basil some garlic chives and a few arugula and pak choi plants.

My garden seems happy, we’ve had more rain this last week than the entire last few months.

Close up of two white shishito pepper flowers on bright green pepper plants.

A very fuzzy Italian mini eggplant plant with three flowers forming. The plant is attached to a dark green plant stake.

A picture of a happy garden in a grey raised bed. There are three tomato plants visible, two eggplants, some shishito peppers, radishes, and an assortment of greens and herbs as well. The garden is surrounded by a large netted structure with the netting open at the time of the photo.

I really miss walking to my community garden plot in my beautiful neighborhood taking detailed photos of flowers.

A flowe with scraggly petals around a brown center, the petals are red near the center changing to yellow at the tips.

A small rose like bud in a reddish pink with white edges on a few petals, barely starting to expand into the full flower.

A deep dark black velvet textured flower in bright sun.

A striking red flower with some faint yellow in the center and green leaves and grass in the background.

I play heavy board games so this should not be intimidating. AND YET. This is really not even that complicated as hex and counter goes but it’s such a different beast, with different aims and incentives. After 2x through the rules I realized I just needed to set it up and start moving things around!

The hex and counter wargame Reds! About the Russian civil war set up on a table in the initial state to start the game.

yesterday i planted my garden, and today my quads hurt. I think three years in I am finally starting to understand the bizarre texas split season. A race from March to early June. Keep stuff alive through hell season, then in late August you get a garden again.

A raised garden bed surrounded by cedar mulch. The bed has 9 plants plus many seeds planted. A bunch of pipes are visible from a six foot tall net structure to discourage birds and deer.
