While I'm complaining about modern Sherlock Holmes adaptations...why do they keep making Holmes and anti-social asshole? I mean he was, but ONLY to upper class, privileged asshats demanding unearned respect due to a bloodline. He was incredibly empathetic and spoke kindly to clients and victims.

Moomin Holmes - drawn for a mashup challenge. #moomin #sherlockholmes # houndofthebaskervilles #drawing #sketch #art

Anthropomorphic animal with a large chin smoking a curved pipe and carrying a large magnifying glass in its right hand. It wears a deerstalker hat and a coat, both of which have a square pattern. On the ground in front of it is a large footprint. The background is solid black apart from a large pair of eyes that can be seen over the creature’s left shoulder.

The words “ It was the footprint of a gigantic hound” are written at the top of the image.

“You have done wisely,” said my friend. “But have you told me all?” “Yes, all.” “Miss Roylott, you have not. You are screening your stepfather.” “Why, what do you mean?” For answer Holmes pushed back the frill of black lace which fringed the hand that lay upon our visitor’s knee. 1/2

“It was a bitter night, so we drew on our ulsters and wrapped cravats about our throats. Outside, the stars were shining coldly in a cloudless sky, and the breath of the passers-by blew out into smoke like so many pistol shots.” BLUE #SherlockHolmes

The fictional character of Sherlock Holmes taught the value of carefully thinking before acting, calling it a "three-pipe problem" because it required smoking three pipes to properly think the issue through, writes Scott Hutcheson,

Baskerville est mort le 18 janvier 1775. Baskerville? Non, pas le chien terrible des Baskerville, la meilleure histoire mettant en scène Sherlock Holmes. Plutôt le célèbre fondeur de caractères, typographe et imprimeur anglais. Son travail nous sert encore tous les jours quand nous lisons.

More #SherlockHolmes insights: Howard Marion-Crawford was famous for playing Dr. John Watson on 1954 TV but he also played Sherlock Holmes in a 1948 radio adaptation of "The Adventure of the Speckled Band," making him one of the few actors to portray BOTH Holmes and Watson.
