Hey folks, I’m Surge! I mainly draw OCs, currently making a comic called Debil|Debil that they appear in! I also do smaller comics and illustrations that feature them, from time to time. Posts are sparse until I have something to show. Thank you and sorry in advance!

Seven devils stand together, they are of varying heights and sizes. From left to right they are: Zezzotoli, Rex, Zytila, Zoh, Zeteg, Ana, Zamsi. Their outfits are reflective of their occupation, or lack of. From left to right they are dressed in: an inmate jumpsuit, a workout outfit, office wear, a park ranger uniform, a security guard uniform, a workout outfit, a park ranger uniform.

Behind the characters are lines and used to show how tall each character is. The background is half and half red.

My devil OC, Zoh, is hopping into action. She wears a uniform similar to a park ranger’s; she wears a long-sleeve shirt and pants, they are rolled up to provide comfort because they are too big for her. The look is complete with tall hiking boots and a complimenting hat. Around Zoh is the name of the comic she appears in, Debil Debil. The text is hatched and curves around either side of the character.

One of my devil OCs, Zeteg, sits in a fetal position with their knees close their chest. Their cheek rests on their knee as they look over to the right, they have melancholic expression on their face. They have blue skin, purple horns, red eyes, and long brown hair. They wear an unbuttoned white dress shirt, blue khaki shorts, and long white socks that go over the calfs.

Zoh looks down to watch Zamsi as she disappears into the barn-like structure, “Oh, we must have an ATV,” she says to herself, not knowing what lies inside. “Sure would beat walking—” her thought is brought to an abrupt end as she recoils in terror.

“What?” Zamsi asks from the ground after seeing Zoh’s reaction. From the barn walks out a large abomination, the body looks as if a human had their limbs contorted and broken to vaguely resemble the legs of a horse. At a glance the creature’s rib cage seems exposed to the open air, but the torso is in reality an agape maw filled with jagged and gnarled teeth. The creature has a ‘head’ that’s a mass of lumpy flesh and eyes of various sizes, a long and tube-like neck connects it to the rest of the creature’s body. Zamsi leads the monstrous being with saddle reins, much like a person would do with a trusty steed.

#Mayllennial Day 31: Burnout Prompt lists like Mayllennial aren’t that tiring for me, despite it consuming a bunch of my free time and brain juice. The structure and ‘need’ for consistency is what I love about them! My wrist fatigues way before my brain does 😅 [my wrist is fine this year though!]

Male Surge throws his mechanical pencil down after completing a sketch, “Whew. That’s that,” he remarks. He stretches in his chair as Female Surge unrobes behind a privacy wall, “Good job, another art challenge for the books. Tired yet?”

Male Surge looks at his massive arm, it is overflowing with the raw essence of artistic motivation, “You kidding?” His face warps and becomes sinister, his eyebrows disappear and his eyes are blank as a wicked smile grows, replacing his usual frown, “I’m all warmed up now! Let’s get crackin’ on the new chapter!”

Female Surge steps out from behind the wall and poses to show her new two-piece swimsuit, “TOO BAD! We’re going on a reeeeal VACATION this year!” Male Surge immediately deflates to his regular frowning face and shrouded eyes, “Gimmie, a break,” he mutters to himself, knowing work on the comic will be at a standstill for most of June. “That’s exactly what a vacation is,” Female Surge responds gleefully, uninterested in continuing to supervise the project for the time being.

Her response is wittier than Male Surge was anticipating, “Funny,” he weakly says.

#Mayllennial Day 29: Handheld Gaming I haven’t owned a handheld since the GBA, I have a Switch Lite because my gf bought an Oled Switch to replace it! Streaming stuff with Game Pass works well enough, but I’d rather draw while on lunch. Playing something for only 20-30 minutes kinda stinks.

#Mayllennial Day 28: CD’s No matter how well I took care of them,they always ended up scratched. They usually stayed in working condition, thankfully!

The Surges are at home doing chores. The CD in the stereo begins to skip, Female calls out, “Fred is skipping again.”

#Mayllennial Day 26: Dial-up An encapsulation of the raw terror I felt accidentally picking up a phone while someone was on the internet as a kid. It probably wasn’t this dramatic but it definitely was a surprise!

Female Surge sits behind the computer with a bored expression. Male Surge approaches the telephone on the other side of the room, “You’ve been on there for 4 hours. I need to make a call,” he says, tired of waiting. She replies, “Did you know that you can hear data? That’s what that scary noise is, basically.” Male Surge is confused about the recently offered information and asks, “What?”

Male Surge pulls the phone from the receiver and is immediately bombarded with static and other hellish noises coming from the telephone.

#Mayllennial Day 25: Cereal Box Prize I can’t recall a time where my cereal came with anything cooler than a spoon. I do remember when I learned the really cool stuff required mailing in a bunch of those tags printed on the box, my easily-forgotten scorn for Kellogg’s was born that day!

The Surges sit at the breakfast table and eat cereal. Male Surge holds up a glow-in-the-dark spoon that came in his box of cereal, “Check it! I got a sick glowy spoon in my box! Anything in yours?”

Female Surge holds up her boxed prized, she is disappointed with what she gets. “Aw man… I got Evil Green Instant Death Stick AGAIN.” Male Surge is revealed to be entirely mechanical, the shorthand for ‘Surge Mark Three’ is written on his metal chest plate. “The searing heat feels great on my air-brushed plating,” he remarks.

#Mayllennial Day 24: Flash Games Flash Player dying really cast a lot of games I played as a young feller into the dark chasm of unsupported/unavailable media. There’s old versions of Flash player you can still download to get stuff to work, and Ruffle exists, so the soul lives on, though faintly.

The protagonist from flash game ‘Fancy Pants Adventure’ leaps over a chasm. The Surges are drawn in the style of Fancy Pants, a stick figure with hair and large pants. Female Surge leans over Male Surge’s chair as he plays, she asks, “A great choice, but why not Johnny Rocketfingers?” Male Surge flatly responds, “Fancy Pants is more PG.”

Female Surge begins to recommend a second, more inappropriate flash game, but Male Surge cuts the conversation short by shouting, “STOP.”

#Mayllennial Day 22: Toy Craze There’s nothing wrong with collecting something you like, but can we stop pretending these mass produced knick-knacks will actually be worth something in 10-20 years?

The Surges are at a store and looking through the collectibles section, Female Surge bends over to look at a current toy line people are hoarding: the Funky. “Ew. Icky little monsters,” she says, unamused by their designs.

Male Surge is on his phone, he is in agreement with her, “At least Beanie Babies were a cute and fun exploitation of peoples’ consumption habits. Glad I never fell for that sort of thing.”

Female Surge look over to him, finding his statement disingenuous, “Ain’t ya stacking up gunpla kits?” Male Surge begins sweating, knowing he’s been had, “… I’m not buying ALL of them.”
