I should probably also inform the shitty landlords that I intend to move. Both places said November 7 would be fine for a move-in date. Even though they’re jerks, it’s only proper to give them as much notice as possible.

I’ll wait until I tour the other place on Saturday, but man. I think this is going to be a tough choice. Both options have major pluses and minuses. I’m going to have to pay $35 for the background check, etc. through Zillow regardless, but it’ll work for one of the two.

Had the tour on the $1200/mth place. It’s *really* nice. Wouldn’t be too hard to set up a desk, got its own kitchen and bath, etc. Landlord is really nice too. He’s apparently a former federal employee.

“You can get mad all you like” she’s telling the passengers. Like, yes, we passengers are mad. Driver can’t stop the bus at every single stop to give passengers the same lecture and then blame the passengers for us being late. Especially since she’s not being especially “customer service” about it.

This bus is nearly 20 minutes behind schedule, I’m ten minutes late for work. The bus driver is someone I’ve never seen before, and is an absolute asshole. She keeps yelling at passengers for not wearing reflective gear, and holding up the bus at every stop to do it.

I, working full-time, paid for a hotel and was homeless. This was me in summer 2018. I, working full-time, couch-surfed and was homeless. This was me in fall/winter 2019. Severance from 2018 NGO program manager job meant I owed taxes for first time in my life. Severance = “self-employment” income

The fact that I am about to be homeless five years after the first time, this time without even a car to live in, reminds me that fascism has been encroaching on North America's political and social systems for a long time and accelerated by several orders of magnitude at the beginning of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

Boss also said I’ve been doing a really good job at every new task I’ve been trained on, so I don’t actually think I’m in any real trouble. Especially since the boss admitted that the root cause of the issue that actually boiled over was a miscommunication on not-my part.

Yeah, though this place seems better. It's inhabited by 40-something professionals, not 20-something entitled jerks. And it's not a small difference in rent - nearly $4000/yr. Being able to not have to rely on you would also be better for my mental health.

The other place is not as convenient to work (it's like an hour each way commute) and it's another house with housemates, but it *is* a 20-minute-each-way walk from a grocery store and it's less than $900/mth.

Yeah, I took the soup to the kitchen to try and cook it. Shitty landlord was in the kitchen using the sink. Saw me with the cup of soup. Did not move, did not offer to let me use the sink (and I did not ask). I ultimately gave up and went back downstairs. No dinner for me.
