This square design from Liana George has a pale cream-colored background. Several bars in pastel colors contain items in a list, with bullet-points that look like a heart in a circle. At the top it says, “WHY BOOK REVIEWS MATTER TO AUTHORS” The listed reasons are: “Insights as to who’s reading their books. Insights as to what they did well. Influences readers and potential buyers. Affects how people find their books. Morale booster.” Centered at the bottom it says, “lianageorge.com.”

As both an academic and a writer, I am repelled by the "this looks like a long document. Would you like me to summarize it for you?" that seems to appear at the top of every pdf viewer now. NO. The *entire point* of good writing (either books or journal papers) is that every sentence has a purpose.

American novelist & short story writer Edith Wharton was the first woman to win the #Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, 1921. She won for her satirical novel set in 1870s high-society New York, The Age of Innocence. She died #OTD in 1937. #literature #fiction #BookSky #LitSky
A black-and-wite histocial photograph of American author Edith Wharton (1862–1937), celebrated historically as the first woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Seated in a relaxed, aristocratic pose, she leans her left elbow on a draped surface, resting her head against her hand while her right hand rests in her lap. She wears an elegant, dark Gilded Age gown featuring white off-the-shoulder lace sleeves, a ruffled white neckline, a thick pearl choker, and a long, delicate necklace. Her dark hair is styled into an elaborate, voluminous updo. Her expression is calm, intelligent, and poised. In the bottom right corner, an inset image displays a modern book cover for her famous novel, The Age of Innocence. The cover features a stark black, white, and red stylized damask pattern surrounding a vintage portrait of a woman looking over her shoulder. Bold white text reads "THE AGE OF INNOCENCE" with "Edith Wharton" written beneath it. The overall composition balances classic historical portraiture with a modern literary reference, evoking a sophisticated and intellectual mood that underscores Wharton's enduring literary legacy and sharp critique of high society.

Human Authored is a project of the Authors Guild that allows an author to certify that their book is created by a human. “Human Authored” means that the text of the book was written by a human and not generated by AI, with the exception of minimal uses, such as AI applications that check spelling and grammar or for brainstorming or research.
